Hi all!
You will probably hate me for bringing this up, but a little input for the cause of severe lag in Hageken and surrounding systems would be appreciated.
Considering how many dedicated mission runners there are, I'm pretty sure they're cursing their heads off by having to log in and wait 'roughly' 1-2 minutes to perform a single small task. (just try opening your wallet and wait for its balance to round up ) ...not even mentioning system jumps...
Yes, it is completely unplayable.
This is not a rant or a whine, I'm just wondering why it's so bad and if there's something good coming our way soonÖ.
Thank you for reading.

I havent noticed much of a lag increase around there, but it does suck that all the previously dead low sec systems nearby are getting more popular now.

Why do people jump to conclusions?
Anyway, strangely enough, are you one out of 100 of us who doesn't get any lag? Can someone confirm this? </sarcasm free> I would just like to know what causes it, and why there are only but a few people who are not affected by it.
EDIT: please check Hageken local once in a while, you'll get the idea.

I have been living in Hageken for about 2 months now. Mining, missions, etc. and I have NEVER EVER EVER had lag as bad as in the past day or two. Even when RMR came out the lag was not THIS bad, seriously wtf is going on. I don't even play anymore if opening my wallet takes more than 2 minutes because that means firing a weapon will take just as long. Please at least tell us what is the problem, not even asking you to fix it, just acknowledge us Hageken livers please. |

True, agents have moved here, but there are less people local than in Inoue and/or Isaziwa, but the lag is multiple times worse... :(
Weird...
Anyway, a lot of petitions have been made tonight.

The lag in hageken is genuine server lag, and while it does seem to come and go, it has been consistently bad recently during peak hours. A L3 and 2 L4 caldari navy agents got relocated there, which has led to a significant increase in activity in-system, though it's nowhere near the levels that should cause node-breaking problems.
My guess is that the load balancing profile hasn't caught up with hageken's increased activity yet, and once it does the system will get some more juice and things will be ok again.

As I mentioned, until very recently hageken was very low traffic, so it's going to have a much lower priority in the loadbalancer than Inoue or Isaziwa. Hence, hageken is going to be sharing a node with more systems, and have less capacity to deal with the large number of players. Once the loadbalancer is kicked into recognising the relocations, hageken should be able to cope at least as well as Inoue or Isaziwa did.

So do I, I'm based in hageken as well, and I've not bothered to leave station. Even keeping the factories going is proving a painful excersise at times.
What I'm really hoping they're not going to do is wait till they've moved all the agents, and then refresh the loadbalancer all at once, otherwise we could be waiting a fair bit longer. (I believe hageken was one of the first sets of agents to get moved?).

Ya, for now "at least as well" sounds very nice.
But then again, CCP should've anticipated this before they moved the agents and should've rebalanced everything up front. Let's just hope they do a good job!

consider it a "feature" along with all of the other "features" that have been added.
Now open your wallet and give the good people at CCP your money for their outstanding work.

Originally by: eSeeker v1 But then again, CCP should've anticipated this before they moved the agents and should've rebalanced everything up front. Let's just hope they do a good job!
The problem with that is they had no way of being sure how much of the population would move, and how quickly they would move. If they misjudged the number of people in the original system that would move to continue missin running, then they could leave the old system lagged out instead of the new one. And if they moved the resources too soon, they could leave people struggling through lag at the old system to get their stuff out.
The big problem with judging the load balancing is that it's player clustering, rather than raw player numbers, that has the most effect. The clustering depends on player behaviour, and that is one of the most random forces in the game world.

As I am too based at Hageken, I want to confirm previous statements about the Hageken Lag, I've never experienced such a lag in eve before. They moved the agents from Inoue to deal with lag problems, yet hageken is acting much worse than Inoue, so yet again, "we've been punked". It is very annoying when you can't play the game in that small gap of free time you have for playing eve.
PPL, please don't just read this thread, but participate, we want to get GM's attention on this issue, it is very important to a lot of people running missions there. Thank you.
CCP, please respond to this thread, and tell us what is going on to solve the Hageken Lag'oh-rama. I do think that you want your customers to be satisfied. ____________________________________________________ Experience is what you get, when you don't get what you want! |

No, and I wish people would stop spreading tke word. My old newbie lowsec training/ratting systems, which I used to have all to myself at night during the weekdays, are getting popular now. Now I can't fall asleep at the keyboard, and wake up 9 hours later to find myself with a still intact ship near a belt.

oK, so today is even worse!
There was a short window of lagless gameplay which laster roughly around 20-25 minutes tops, so why not do a mission...
Riiiiiiiight, you accept a lvl4 Guristas Extravaganza, and the next thing you know is TRYING to warp out for over 3 minutes on first stage due to lag!
C'mon, are we really supposed to play like this?!
Dev's/GM's, you input is not only appreciated, it's, well, needed and of outmost importance!

We're still waiting/expecting CCP's official answer on this serious matter, it would be very appreciated.
Caldari Navy Mission running (LVL4) is giving all of us mission runners a major setback. This is our main source of income, and we're crippled in doing it. Can you at least give us an estimated fix of this BIG issue. You tried solving it with moving agents from Inoue to Hageken, but it seems this was not a good step to take, since we have LAG issues that are at least double than they were at Inoue. Ok, maybe it was a mistake, but we're human and we all do mistakes sometimes...it's time to move on and find a better way to solve this. Bear with us, please do something about it soon, and inform us of the progress. MiKKa.

Edited by: Ceridan02 on 11/01/2006 10:03:19 Since my Agent moved to Hageken its not possible to play any Mission at the moment because of the extrem lag. I nearly lost my dominix during a Spy Stash Mission because my hardeners and armour repairers did not startet to work.... . Is is also very frustrating to lock at enemys and because of the nice lag its impossible to shoot only one because you lost the lock¦s at the NPC¦s ... then you have to wait the lock time + the lag time until the targets are available to you...only to loose the lock¦s again. Without my dominix and her self locking drones i would never had a chance to end the mission. Its also funny to try to dock to a station waiting up to 5 minutes until docking sequence startet or jumping out or into the systems is nearly impossible. I¦m close to habe enough of EVE and CCP for the first time. They are unable to handle the lag and crash problems since middle december.

OMG, I thought it couldn't get any worse, but it just did!
I made the mistake of staying in Hageken while logging off, and it now took me well over five minutes to enter the game! ...oK, thought that was bad, but the rest is even worse. If you can spare 20 minutes to fit your ship, or 30 minutes to travel from one station to the other, have fun!
So what, one week after, your wallet starts drying up 'cause you can do any missions, you catch yourself thinking about doing suicide runs, you want help by contacting the GM's, but all you get are pretty much standard (predefined, if you wish) replies, and it feels like you wanna cry...
Again, could and/or would a GM/Dev be so kind to reply to this thread and let us know what in the world is going on and when it's going to get fixed??

I do missions for the lvl 3 agent who moved from Inoue to Hageken and so far it's been a challenege to say the least.
The lag has gotten pretty bad.
Wouldn't it had made more sense to take the higher quality agents and spread them out?
It seems that all they've done is move the problem from one spot to another.
And as someone had said earlier, there's not even that many people in local.
Oh well - hopefully it will be fixed soon.

Originally by: sonofollo well a) move b) put up with it or c) start a corp war dec the main locals and start driving them out.
a) out of the question - CCP decided to move our agents AND our LPs to Hag, so we've had to move with them. The L4 there is one of the best L4 agents for the Caldari Navy thats located in secure space. I would move if I could take my LPs with me, and CCP felt like shifting my ENTIRE hagar to a new location - I spent 3 solid days hauling everything there, I don't have the effort to move it again, especially with the lag like it is there.
b) this is way past "put up with it." take a trip there at peak time, and I can promise you you'll spend at least 20 minutes trying to get back out.
c) the majority of the locals are probably in noob corps, but thats out of the question again; you'd have to shift over half of the population to get things back down to a playable level again. The lag starts to get uncomfortable when theres about 40~50 in local; at peak times, it's over 100.

Most people are doing something else. I don't see why a system with 90 people should lag worse than Jits with 300 in it.
Doesn't really bother me I just leave a long skill training cancel the accounts and go play something else for a bit. Fix it, don't fix it, don't really care.
BTW The screenie I posted shows an entirely new bug I've not seen in the years I've played if any Devs are reading.

Well, i have to say, Hageken was really bad for playing these latest days, however I did noticed a progressive significant improvement in gameplay.
I know it s still lagged, but if you pay attention on lag period at least, it seemes to me that an important improvement have been reached in these 2 days, especially today Hageken was really ok for most of the time!
I am confident lag will disappear forever in the short period, till then just keep patience and try to explore other gameaspects possibly in other region ;)

So... it has been a week since Hageken has been turned into the laggiest system in the universe. It has NOT gotten better at all. The most annoying thing is the random nature of the lag. Today for example, I was in Hageken and 70 people were in local; I had such bad lag I can't even put it into words. Later on there were 79 people in local and I had almost no lag, at least compared to before. This just baffles me, there are crazy lag spikes for no apparent reason during all times of the day.
I don't want my account credited for a few days or weeks. I want the lag to be fixed, please.

Why do missions have to spawn 20 NPCs when 5 would do the trick?
What's the point of a single spawn of 16 cruisers, 4 frigates and a battleship, really, like in the non-deadspace 'Sabotage the supply lines' level 4 Wouldn't it be better with 1 BS + 3 cruisers + 2 frigs, but with decent NPCs instead of those ravens that only shoot a torp every 10 seconds and that's it?
Still 300k LPs to grind to get the navy raven... good Lord!
