I suggest you add a description on what that angle is about for the numnuts like me who go "... ehm" after inputting a number between 1 and 99 and pressing the button ... |

The concept seems to be GÇ£if your target is 100km ahead, at what off-target angle do you need to aim in order to MJD to a given distance from that target?GÇ¥
Iow, if you want to arrive at 1km, just jump straight at him. If you want to arrive at 100km (rather than just sit still), jump off 60-¦ to the side, thereby describing an equilateral triangle between your original position, the target position, and the destination position. GÇ£If you're not willing to fight for what you have in GëívGëí you don't deserve it, and you will lose it.GÇ¥

Seems clear to me. Its a calculator to help someone us the LMWD to an object less than 100km away.
point A is 50km away. You cant use the LMJD to get to it cause you would end up 50km past it. So you use the LMJD to get to point B fist then jump again to A.
Whats so hard to understand about that? |

The real question is, where would you get the angle to do it with? its not as if the overview says you are 75 degrees offset from an object.
Apparently hard for most because most people never figured it out...in a game about figuring things out lol.
It's not hard to do, but I can see how a tool like that can save you some mission/complex time. I tend to dual prob mwd and mjd so i don't fuss with triangle jumping much. |

This is all just speculation.
It could as well be used to intercept a fast moving ship using the MJD.
We have no idea how or why the angle is used, at all.
I want to know why the angle is relevant. If there is something plain obvious i simply have been missing. I only found one great tactic to use with the MJD, so far, and running away is not considered a tactic here. |

Side A of the triangle is your distance from the other ship, Side B is the distance you want to land from that ship calulating a jump range of 100km. you know 2 distances and that the inside angles will add to 180 degrees.
So find the equation and do the math from there.
I guess you would need the combat overlay on to try to estimate vector angle. |

Pretty handy tool. I wonder if it would be best just create some sort of graph that can easily see the angle without having to calculate it, as the angle will always be the same from a given distance. |

This is useless, doesn't even have the capacity to teach someone who is clueless about geometry. You can't input degrees anywhere in game and you pretty much eyeball it in game when using this mechanic.
Select your target Bring up tactical Eyeball mid point in that line Imagine a 90 degree line crossing it to 100km Align to that point at 100km Jump
Everyone should be able to figure this out. If they can't your tool sure as hell isn't gonna help anyone. |

In what situation would have the time to do two MJD jumps without the target moving? |

In what situation would have the time to do two MJD jumps without the target moving? Only in PvE. Like when you have gates far away from warp-in and you don't feel like slowboating. |

As old time player of Silent Hunter III*, I understand what he does... but EVE is not that accurate, neither measuring angles nor distances nor the "double click" navigation itself. And then you got 3D to compound complexity.
*plotting an interception course and finding the convoy right where you expected it, when you expected it, was... rawrr. The Greater Fool Bar is now open for business, 24/7. Come and have drinks and fun somewhere between RL and New Eden! |
