have you not realized how many new ships there are? most of the new ships dont resemble the original ones at all.

Most of the T2 ships do have extra thrusters and pointy bits.
I don't think you trust, in, my, self-righteous suicide. |

Edited by: Marcus Right on 07/01/2006 08:04:05 They are SUPPOSED to look like that. They are newer versions of the old. When you see a 2001 Model of a car and a 2002 Model they look very much alike.
I don't think it's due to lack of creativity, or to cut back on time for creation. I think it's so there are differnt veriants. It's the idea behind it.
I like it, I'm waiting for Tech II versions of the rookie ships. And for that matter, I'd like to see Tech II models of many other ships out there: (I'm Minmatar, so I really only know about them, but for example:) The Probe, perhaps make a version that is good for using probes and survey gear... one that can live up to it's name and be an explorer vessel.

They came out with lots of new looking ships: Frieghters, Dreadnaughts, Carriers, and Titens.
Also, I really all the frigates are just the training wheel versions of their later counter-parts. A Rifter is a trainer for a Wolf, Ruppy is a trainer for a Muninn. Vigil for the Cheetah. - Right - |

one thing we don't want is additional skins loading in. Next thing you know we'll have people requesting to paint their ships...
Does it really matter? We don't need many more skins on our ships, just be content with what you have.

I asked this question for new t1 and new conecpt ships long ago. However, t2 ships need the same ship type because they are modified t1 ships. Have to upgrade the origial.

What's wrong with wanting more from the game? You're paying them each month and yes, they do work vigilantly on new content, but it would also be nice of the devs to acknowledge the players' requests and then maybe put those up for a vote in the forums or similar. Which also brings me to this:
DEVS, if you're watching, please check these 2:

Why o why do my brand new Caldari ships have badly worn/patchy red go fast stripes on them. You'd think with a new ship they could paint the thing properly

Id still like to see a faction dominix and typhoon, i dont mind the same models being used coz they always make em look super tech 2 cool, although its still nice to see new stuff, but i dunno why these 2 ships dont have faction versions, all the other bs do

Usually there are slight body changes. Looking at a 2006 car should have some noticable differances than the 2005. They might justbe slight differances, because as a whole they are almost the same, but enough to tell it is T2
Bustard anyone? I still need to park my Bustard next to a badger 2 and see if there are any differences. Siggy coming soon... |

Take this scenario: I have a new skin for my ship and decide to load it up. I see my nice shiny new ship with it's new colors, logo and designs but nobody else can. That is because it is in my client but nobody else's. The solution is to have it uploaded and stored on the server. The dev's go ahead and store my design so everyone else can say wow! what a neat looking ship. The idea takes off and everyone creates their own design and uploads it to the server.
The end result: Each time someone encounters another players ship, the skin has to be uploaded from the server. Therefore you jump into a busy system and wait while the server uploads 100 or more skins. Say, for example, each skin is 200K or so which means the server has to upload 20 meg to your PC in order for you to see everyone else's designs. This puts additional load on the server causing major lag for everyone.
DEFINITELY NOT!
