Anger at bug with trading spirits is indescribable.

Grawshellar	Posted - 2006.01.07 03:17:00 - [1] This is my first visit to these forums. I've jsut upgraded to a full account, and found a sweet trade route, selling spirits. Of course I'd never been here to find out that these are bugged, so I navigate space(some low sec) carefully carring my entire fortune's worth of spirits. In addition to this, I borrowed 4 million from a friend to help fill my load. Of course I couldn't sell at the station... a known bug I am told, but ONLY KNOWN IF you spend your time on the trade forums. So now I sit in a station with a full industial ship load of spirits I cannot unload anywhere without taking a loss, with the entire wealth of myself and a friend tied up in it. Good times. So now my question. Why the hell isn't there a centralized location listing these bugs? A page entitled "current bugs" linked from the char select screen would do wonders, and I wouldn't be sitting here writing this right now. Frustrated , Grawshellar

Grawshellar	Posted - 2006.01.07 05:47:00 - [3] Stations controlled by certian bugged corperations (in this case DUCIA) will have buy orders posted for items which aren't allowed to be sold there, despite the items NOT appearing as illegal there. Thus you buy the item, take it to the location where the buy order is placed, and cannot sell, thus screwing ye out of being able to get rid of the goods.

Contact 'PinkWhistle' in-game and he might be able to sort you out. (my alt). Also, I recommend you look for the 'Trader's Lounge' channel in-game. I quoteth the truth of the matter, whilst holding up a hand for having fallen to this one early in my career too. Sold the goods in a Caldari station in the end for a smaller profit as I recall. -- Lose != Loose Lose (v) - To suffer loss. Loose (adj) - Not fastened, restrained, or contained.

In a real economy these Corps would have been sued, disconnected from the Market and bankrupted. The moral is I'm afraid don't put all your ISK into anything you haven't checked out small scale first. Have the t-shirt to prove it. Sell your Spirits for a small loss, or scout neighbouring regions for places where you can sell it, and get on with your life. And for the love of god, search the forums before you post, the market section is spammed with this issue.

If you are not allowed to fill a spirits order for Ducia then Ducia should not allow the order to be placed on the market at all. It doesn't matter if you call it a bug or not, it's just plain dumb and should be changed.

unknown 1	Posted - 2006.01.10 18:18:00 - [14] I can one better you. RIGHT after illegality was put into the game, I tried to do the same thing, except I accidentally plotted a path through Yulai... Now, consider I had borrowed 25M to buy the spirits, and was fined about that much for having them, AND loosing them, I was 50M in the hole. This was well over a year ago, and was the one time I actually bought ISK for cash just to get out of the hole. I had petitioned and gotten a "sorry! read the release notes" response. Sigh.

I researched and understood the legality issue for the Spirits, so I plotted a safe route to deliver. Ran into the same Ducia issue and couldn't sell, but I see why since they are an Amarr Corp, which makes sense but still they should not be permitted to even submit BUY orders for the item from that Station in which it is illegal contraband. This is a case of station laws overruling the laws of the space where the station resides. In any case I trucked it all out to another nearby region (Only 3 more jumps away) and sold it there for a smaller profit..but still a profit - AND - discovered a trade route there in legal space for the Spirits that's currently netting me just under 1million isk a run...1 jump 3 minutes one with with Instas. So it isn't a bug, yet is...and you CAN make a large profit off Spirits assuming you do the homework and research the routes and stations. Enjoy!
