Just wondered if anyone had seen this mission, and if they have any tips for it in a raven; havent done missions for ages, and have been getting my ass whipped on this one, 1st pocket is full of gallant navy ships.
current set-up - Hi - 3 cruise, 3 torps, 1 heavy nos, 1 tractor beam, Mids - 1 Large T2 booster, 3 large extenders, one thermal hardner, lows - 3 T2 BCU, 2 T2 PDU

I'm not raven expert but you need to bump up your kinetic and thermal resistances.
You will have less total shields but they will be harder to break.
Theres plenty of good setups around, go look at them, they will go a long way to solving your woes.

we did a lvl3 with Tempest and ferox and died in 30 sec !
they have a lot of scramblers and webbiefier at point blank and from behind at least 3 BS ( Megathron ) were giving us every 5 sec 170 Damage.
Just to make it clear we jumped in saw everthing turned around and were put under fire instantly so if you cant tank it dont go for it .
Personnaly I dont think that you will tank them with that fitting I had 2 Aktive shield hardener and the guristas still gave me a lot of damage
As I have not met a person you can tell me what the benefits are from that mission I would turn it down :(

Get rid of the extenders for hardeners and the BCUIIs for PDUIIs.

Edited by: Talio ZomB on 07/01/2006 21:37:02 on entering that stage do not release your drones!! all that does is aggro more of the rats, just torp/cruise what does aggro you and once u finally kill those get some major distance then the rest is easy.
Only part I couldnt solo with ease was the last part 5 of 5 where more bs spawn faster than you can kill stuff.
I done this mission only as a challenge to see if I could do it (I couldnt alone) and to hae an opinion on it, in this case, this mission sucks so bad for reward. There is literlly no incentive to do this mission alone or with a gang its a waste of everybodys time.

Muckle, try 3x rat specific active hardeners (in this case kinetic+thermal) 1x XLshield booster, 1x Shield Boost Amp and 1x Heavy Electrochemical Cap Booster (fitted with cb 800s) You'll be tanking like you've never tanked before :)

I have tried the 5 PDU2, active hardner + Xl bnooster setup-up, and ran out of cap, so i like the large cap injector idea. I'll try that if i get offered the mission again and i'm feeling brave!

Anyone finished this yet? 5/5 is very tough, im trying to do it now. I have a raven tanked to the hilt and fighting minm navy, any tips anyone? me and my support crew are having to warp out all the time, this is a very tough last mish :(

All I can say is for part 5, if you get agroed by everythting (I did and it will only get worse as more waves appear) warp in, align and head in that direction while attacking the nearest bs. keep piling on the damage untill you can tank no longer then warp out (don't leave it too late as the missile bombardment will hinder your warping, which in turn may get your ship popped). Repair then head back in and repeat. it will take a while but you should whittle down the BS's, of which there are about 15 or so all firing at you. The cruisers and frigs are not much hassle afterwards.
If you are lucky and get attacked by a group at a time, take out the groups by the sentries first, then go for the group by the gate last. Finally hammer the gate with all you have, if you are quick only one new group will appear before it is destroyed. Unless the mission has since been fixed, more waves will still continue to appear even after the gate is destroyed. You can hang around and try to clear them or you can just go and see your agent as the gates destruction completes the mission.

We killed like 5 BS, and as we were hammereing the last one yet another spawn warped in, then another until 8 BS 4 of which are the Uber Tempests plus all the cruisers and frigs....
We lost a scorp with 4 hardeners two amps two xlarge II shield boosters 4 pdus (and a pilot wiht full crystal imppants), and one of the supporting feroxes... The Scorp was overwelmemed way before anyone could kill the stargate.
In future i will get everyone equipped for dmg and take out the stargate strait away and tank the fist few waves...... Thing is you dont get a second try.

Thats a lot of boost power, 572 or so per sec, but only sustainable for a few secs, the cap drain is insane (much more then the 4 pdu can ever supply). If you give us some more details on what hardners you used and how much you boosted per second (exactly) and such, I can tell you how much damage that scorp could tank (for each type of damage).
You might be better off with a differnt kind of tank, my guess is that the tank broke due to running out of cap.....in any case we need more details.

Enemies Abound stage 1 can be soloed without too much difficulty in a Harpy with some Gist equipment (an AB and an SB). You will need to come in with a heavy hitter at the end to clear out the Orions, as they are able to armor tank beyond what damage you can deal with the Harpy (even light neutron ii's). Other than that I had no problems except it of course took quite a long time.

(this was level 4 of course - I was able to do missions 1-4 using the same techniques as described above, but part 5 I had to give up because I wasn't quick enough to destroy the gate).

I did part 5 once (first time) using a Cerberus, ran from the word go and took down the spawns from range and on the run over about 250km spread of space and then when they stopped, took down the gate.
Didn't get the right setup and must have ran in a slightly different direction second time I got the mission (stupid on the setup, I know) and almost lost the ship. Having seen how fast they tore through the Cerberus' shields with 2 tech 2 hardners running plus a Dread Guristas medium Booster, I will be thinking very carefully of setup before accepting again.

1st satge is cake 2nd delivery 3-4th cake 5th need a suport ship throwing shields. last stage is multi spawn all minmatar other 3 are gallante use inferno torps they drop like flys (Do NOT Launch DRONES) they will all agro this is my fitting i solo all but last stage
6x arb sieges 1x heavy diminishing nos 1x Dread XL Booster 1x tech II invul 2x photon II 1x knetic II 1x therm II 3x pds II 1x internal force field aray I damage control 1x Dread BCU

we had enough firepower to take the stargate strait off and they stay until the spawns got too bad. Unfortunatly i had to decline the missions before our loots cans poped, and going back to finish them off was just not happening.
The dmg was overwelming the boosting from the twin Xlarge SBs, having the cap to boost forever wouldnt have mattered (and we did have the support to). I think its a bit extreme for a mission to require faction stuff and lots of support to finish the mission, there are certinly no second chances with this mish.

Hello missioners, Well this mission aint that hard , i do the first 4 levels solo and in the last we can completed it with only 2 ravens: tip for the first mission is to go in with 6 large smart bombs let the 4 ceptors get close and boom, warp out refit(u need at least 500 speed) and do the rest.
the last mission its easy , 2 ravens , one of them with cruize missiles and 2 sensor boosters that can kill at 200km and 4 overdrives, the second raven torps tank for kinetic and thermal and 4 overdrives. the plan is that both raven go in and the one with torps get the locks while both ravens are flying away from gate firing the first group of enemies, while the group is goin down the raven with cruize missiles gains distance.When the group is down u just kill the gate, if the torp raven can hold the group warps out and back and helps killi the gate from 100km. Well works for us we done it 3 times.
