What do you expect them to do then? If you had a break-in into your house I would think you would want have the thing investigated. And if your neighbour had a break-in I bet he would be happy if he got his locks changed in case the thief comes back.
I would rather have my password changed then have some lame hackers steal/destroy my stuff ingame, so flaming CCP isn't really helping anyone is it? The whole thing is over and it's time to move on. |

No, it is hardly over! I still cannot access my account because I can't get anyone to send me a password that works! And NO, my e-mail has not changed. The system says it will send me a password, but I am still waiting 24-hours later with nothing but canned reponses with a link that requires a PASSWORD I DO NOT HAVE!
This is ridiculous!

do you honestly think they are taking the weekend off? the amount of questions and emails they will get i bet its more hassle, prehaps if they did nothing and your account was stolen you wouldnt be able to complain because atleast they didnt reset 20,000 I Cant Read And I Cant Write But I Can Fly An Apoc.

I don't mean this as flame-bait, but ...
1) The hackers chose the timing, not CCP. If you want to be PO'ed with someone, be PO'ed with the hackers. If your house is robbed, do you get mad at the robbers or the cops who recover your stuff? 2) As a former IT security person, it looks to me like CCP has done everything in their power to make the fix as painless as possible. If you have fallen through a *****, then I am sure that they will be more than willing to fix the problem. 3) It's a game, not your life (or should be). If you can't play this weekend, then go outside, spend time with friends and/or family, play with your pet (if you have one - keep it G-rated, please), go see a movie, take a walk, do something constructive. (This is in no way meant to imply that you do not already do these things.) 4) Any time "lost" for skill training is minimal in the grand scheme. If you have a newer character idling, I understand your disappointment, but you will make it up eventually. If you have an older character, the 2-3 days that you might lose for skill training are nothing compared to the months and/or years you've already trained. Percentage-wise, it's not that horrible. 5) I'm sure that, unless it's a national holiday in Iceland, there are people at CCP right now, working through petitions and making sure that this problem will not reoccur.

I do not think it is unreasonable to expect service in a timely manner. I guess the next time my subscription is due I can just send them a form-letter saying due to the high volume of bills I have received they will receive payment when I get around to it.

What I'd like to know is how do people post in the forum if they have a non-working PW. I couldn't post while I waited.

Its because we have 4 accounts.Has anyone actually gotten hacked or like when ccp did this to me before just spent to much time suspecting and not enuf time thinking. They changed them because I traveled logging on from different ip's all over the country. And I am sure alot of people are like me and let some close friends use your accounts from time to time so did someone get hacked or is ccp overreacting?

Quotes from EVE Online EULA
2. Your Account; A. Establishing a New Account:
Quote: "You may not share your Account with anyone, or allow anyone other than you personally (or your minor child, if you have registered an Account on behalf of your minor child) to access or use your Account. Joint or shared ownership or use of an Account by more than one user is prohibited."
2. Your Account; C. Children; i. Responsibility for Account:
Quote: "... If you are a parent or guardian, you may permit one child to use the Account instead of you (in which case you may not use that Account)."
What I mean by mentioning this is that, if more and more players let close friends/etc use your personal account, the higher the risk is for hackers/illdoers to gain access and cause these problems. Note that I am not questioning yours or anyones trust between you and your friends, but in my opinion, CCP is not overreaction the slightest. They are only doing what needs to be done.

So some kids were clicked on a link and anyone without good protection was infected,How is reseting everyones password a fix.It would have been less time consuming replacing the 50-60 persons stuff than the mess that was created.40% of the people i talked to still don't have an account to play.So make everyone pay for these guys foolishly clicking on a ingame link..Sounds fair........Lets all kiss ccp butt and say how great they have handled this and every other thing that has gone wrong...And no in the end it is the hackers but this was not at all handled properly...

Ive had to start a 14 day trial account just so I can do something. Its damn annoying reading what is happeneing but not being able to do anything about it.
As already stated cCP do seem quite good at taking payments of you but are totally unable to give you the goods. Im still stuck like a lot of others and to those that think this problem is now over obviosly havent a clue how much suffering is still going on. A few where lucky but many where not.
So much of this could have been avoided is CCP admitted what the actual problem was and told players that full reinburstment would be forthwith. It isnt nice being kept in the dark. They are quite capable of giving a estimate of how long the e-mails will take to sort and just how many players are we talking. They are not because they dont want people to really know just how screwed they are.
You only have to look at the lag issues. There blaming it on numbers but its 10 times worst with RMR, even though it is surpose to be redesigned to make life easier for the servers. Drone numbers etc. There are some fundimental problems that they have never sorted fire fighting is never the best solution to a problem but one that CCP always take. Try preventing some of the Sh.t its much easier in the long run.

Flamebait.
What has happened is very unfortunate. However, creating a thread insulting CCP and the actions they have taken is not constructive. If you do have any comments (written constructively and in a polite manner), you can post them here.
