So I'm relatively new to EVE I guess (started about 10 months ago) so I'm still learning the ropes about how things work in this very complicated game. So I joined Brave Newbies and moved out to lowsec immediately. I'm enjoying being in a huge alliance but I'm having a lot of trouble finding things to do. Literally every time I undock and go out, even in a group, I'm always the one that dies. I fit a ship, usually a Vexor or something of the sort, with Tech II modules but still get ganked every time. My funds are running low and I'm not sure what to do now. I do have PI bringing in some money but I can't afford to keep dying every time I go out to explore. Any suggestions on how to make money/fun things to do in low sec that (hopefully) won't always end with me getting podded in a belt or outside of a station.
Thanks for any help. |

Thanks for any help. You are probably too new to solo gatecamp in lowsec, but you can definitely ninja loot. Set up bookmarks ~200km from the gates in a system that sees a lot of action, fit a catalyst with a cheap cloak, stabs all low and salvagers high, and just site on the gate and wait for expensive ships to pop. Warp to the wreck, grab the goods, and get the hell out before the people who made that wreck pop you. Profit. You'll make a killing on the mods, but better still you see how people combat fit ships. Tama is a good system to do this in...

Quit flying cruisers all the time, firstly, and stop T2 fitting them until you have a good handle on PvP. If all you want to do is roll around lowsec checking things out and maybe getting a fight or two, T1 fit frigs are your friend. You'll learn something from most actual fights (not ganks) and you will be out less cash when the inevitable happens. Save burning through cruisers for small gang roams, and when you feel a bit more confident in your solo PvP skills. Rifterlings pirate corporation is now recruiting pilots for lowsec solo & small gang operations. Visit our website at www.rifterlings.com or join our in game channel weflyrifters to speak to a recruiter. |
