Gah, I just re-read the rules. The finishing date was saturday, the announcement of the winner is one week later. Oops...

All of you who have sent isk and screenshots after the closing date will get a refund.
Due to real life stuff I haven't been able to update the gallery as much as I would want it to be. I hope you understand.
Coming monday the winner will receive his or her price and the winning screenshot will be displayed.

Things that need to be done for this contest to work:
1.) Better website.
2.) More publicity on the forums, maybe even have CCP support it and pop it on the news page.
3.) Have more people involved.
4.) If people have interest and doing this again, I am more than willing to make up a website and run the contest myself, I work during the day but would be able to update the pictures and the site every evening (GMT -7).
5.) I wouldn't be giving ISK out of my own wallet (or maybe I would if there is enough interest and submitted screens) so the prize is entirely depandant on what publicity we give to this.
All that being said, I really looked forward to this contest being a bit larger than it was. It's a great idea.

damn shame I missed this, I love taking screen-shots and I think I have taken some excelent ones, even better than the CCP Offical ones! :)
your contest however sounded a bit too much like a lottery :(
1million isk is alot, and even if you pick a winner, someone else might think that another screenshot was more deserving of the win.
We had something like this in City of Heroes! A Costume competition, these were EXTREMLY popular and here are a few reason why I think they were:-
There were often at least 5 judges, sometimes 10 or more!
The competition was free to enter, just turn up!
They were run very regular! on a weekend you can expect one every few hours. but if you lost, or didnt get anywhere, there was always going to be another one, run by someone else who may have a different opinion!
The Prize money was given freely out of the contest holder(s)own pocket or donated from their Super-Group (corp equivelant). If you start asking for entry fee's people dont bother and see it as a money making scam.
Different prize winning positions, often you would have many different stages, first you would weed out the rubish, narrow it down, and let the people who have been narrowed down know that they have got to the next stage..upto about 3/4 stages. It keeps people interested and excited.
Then you would have an overall winner and some runners up prizes.
You may think, if your not making ISK out of it, why bother?.. well its hugley fun, and once you have captured an audience you could throw the occasional entry-fee competition to make it worth your while.
Im sure if there was a Navy Issue Megathron up for grabs then people would gladly pay some money : )
