Getting to level 4 missions is a long grind, and it will take you a while to be able to fly a ship capable of completing them as well. I'm surprised that people would recommend that to a new player. Most people consider missions as a way to make isk which can be spent on more fun activities.
I party. Really. I do. www.ensignyooch.wordpress.com |

yea i dont think missions are for me. seems like a lot of grinding (in some sense) to me. even though i joined 2 weeks ago i have a lil bit of isk. so i think going through different Corps to learn the ropes and figure out what i want to do is my option...who knows...
so...you party huh? the question is...what kind of party? and where is this party?
i wouldnt mind going to one of the EvE get togethers in RL...to bad i live in a place where thats not possible.. |

ahh, what a boring day in the office will cause you to dream... lol
Believe it or not but there is quite a few couples who have met in EVE and ended up getting married One couple got married at FF this year, if i remember correctly someone else proposed on stage a few years back, and you will find the random stories like this.
But i warn you tho, making it your goal to find female players in the hopes they will marry you would most likely be an unachievable goal and you would run the risk of coming across as a creepy stalker

lol yea yea...obviously i didnt start playing this game with that in mind, but..would be cool though lol.
man i just watched a youtube vid of BNI doing some titan fleet back in july, and man, some of the lingo/jargen i hear makes no sense to me lol. one of those large fleet actions seems to me why i would want to keep playing..that large 4000+ battle at 6VDT-H is what got my attention on this game in the first place. |

ok so i think that i want to lean towards PVP. the care bear stuff just sounds to boring and time consuming to me (although i know its necessary to fund your PVP adventures)...
but, since i know i have to find a way to finance my PVP adventures, i think i want to delve into exploring, with a long term goal of combat exploring.
...recommendations? |

I just flew cheap and bought plex for most of my early isk.
I did a little wormhole exploring, and a little T3 manufacturing with a partner where I supplied the isk to buy raw materials and he provided the pos and indy char and we split the profit.
See what your new corp offers in terms of isk making opportunities. |

Hey Fomol,
I am reading your post and want to tell you that the first rule of Eve is: Play what you want to play, only that way it is fun! The second thing is that if you want to train all skills youll be bissy for next 65 years :)
So 1 of the things i fortgot to do when i started to play is all starting missions who teach you what the possibillity's are, that way you get a perfect picture of all the things you can do!
Then you can diside where you want to spent you first skillpoints in.
The best corp to start in is a corp who does mission evenings and mining evenings, all the money ernt that way get divided over all the joining players. That way you make more isk then you should normaly (for example there 3 more experienced player who mine with a hulk and you with a mining frigite), that kinda corp "helps" you to get started. The total ore get divided over the players, so it makes no difference witch ship you fly or how much ore you mined.
When you are 6 to 12 month under way you will have some basic skills where you can get you ur income from and understand more of the game.
Last thing i want to say, eve is politics, so be carefull what corp you join, first deside what you expect from a corp and then diside. For example: If you joining a pirate corp, be sure you want that reputation, if you want to be a pirate then dont hassitate becouse of the first rule.
I dont know of pvp yet, for me the best way was starting slow, my other char is training for pvp now, so i am still very noob @pvp.
Just my 2 cents

do the tutorials, then join a corp. Don't be afraid to jump corps if it's not what you want. |
