I'm just waiting for the start of winter hype. Probably we'll get something once the minutes are released, but so far, CCP hasn't said a word on anytting else than the iterations at the F&I forum.
And, of course, being jaded and cynical is a natural consequence of being passionate and hopeful and crash into reality.
Certainly we could be worse (come think of PGI and everyone who trusted them about MechWarrior Online), but... trust can only be broken once. We may still like to think that EVE is loyal, that there are no other men in her life (albeit we could name them) and that, this winter, she will be impressive again and go beyond the neverending little things.
We know that we're deceiving ourselves... but then, if we didn't cared, we wouldn't be here, neither jaded nor cynical nor any way. The Greater Fool Bar is now open for business, 24/7. Come and have drinks and fun somewhere between RL and New Eden! |

CCCP will though release another ship balancing update with some UI changes in December.

No, nothing as clearcut as a removal. Instead, just the effective removal of T2 mfg in high sec , by penalizing high sec T2 industry / giving null sec massive invention and mfg bonuses.
That way, even though T2 high sec industry is gutted, null sec cartels can say "we never touched T2 high sec industry. Most people viewed Orwell's writings as a warning. The harper regime and the goons treat them as a guidebook. |

I'll be interested to see if Malcanis will be so quick to dismiss DP's speculation about hi sec T2 manufacturing/invention nerf.
Makes you wonder why all the null blocs are going all renter friendly, doesn't it? ;-)

Yeah, it will be most interesting of I am correct.
Because that would mean all the null sec cartels started employing game mechanisms that totally jived with the winter changes, but months before they were released publicly, and well, that was just be pure blind luck by the cartels......
Actually, that is not fair. The last, but far most powerful cartel, would have started months before the release. Many of the cartels had already embraced this game mechanism, before that. Most people viewed Orwell's writings as a warning. The harper regime and the goons treat them as a guidebook. |

CCP will strive to localize Eve by replacing asteroid belts with shoals of space fish. All mining vessels will be transformed into space trawlers, mining lasers to nets. A jaunty captain's hat will be added to the Noble Exchange. Also added will be Space Banking and Poor Investment Decision skills. These will allow you to magically multiply your ISK with no effort. Hostile buyouts of corporations and alliances will supplant warfare. PvPers will rage. To sink all that ISK, new gold-plated newb-ships will be added. These can only be purchased with the new Jovian currency, the Jeuro. A London School of Economics lecture series to explain how the ISK - Aurum - Jeuro - PLEX exchange rates are calculated will be cancelled after the first one devolves into a riot.
The Winter 1.1 update will add a new weapon, the Super, which insta-kills everything in space within one AU when fired. It can only be mounted on the gold newb ships. NPCs, including CONCORD, stations and gates will be vulnerable. The Final Jihad will bring an end to all space-based life in New Eden.
DUST 514 players will look into the sky and marvel at the lights. They will call for orbital fire support. There will be no response. Oh, and the door will finally open, but you'll just get sucked into space and die. |

Other than the ship classes, following is my interpretation from already released. heavily NDA:d information posted by CSM from the August Summit:
Exploration theme continues. There's going to three major new additions to the game mechanics, biggest one a project headed by Team Kuromaku, but there are three other dev teams working on different aspects. Another big thing from Team Five-O. Superfriends are working on a feature as well. probably not linked exploration. New art. UI gets more love. Ship balancing continues with marauders, I'd guess EAFs, Recons and Logis follow (no major changes to these).
Modular POSes are unfortunately pushed back to late 2014.

I think Dinsdale is referring to a couple of dev blogs written by CCP Greyscale on design goals for null sec back in 2011. Here's the quote from the second dev blog from August 2011.
CCP Greyscale wrote:Industry99% self-sufficient by volume
- For further discussion. People building things in nullsec should only need to travel to empire (or more than a couple of regions across nullsec) for low-volume supplies. This requires that industrialists have a ready supply of low-end minerals available nearby in nullsec, without breaking other systems or goals. (Likely means some way of mining low-ends in a massively more rapid manner compared to current tools.)
Geared towards T2
- Our current proposal is that hisec is for volume T1 goods, lowsec will be for meta/faction gear eventually, nullsec is for T2, and wormholes are for T3
Lucrative
- Building T2 modules/ships in nullsec should be a good way to make a lot of money. There are many inherent drawbacks in doing industry in nullsec and we need to balance out these hidden costs.
Dinsdale does have a tendency to spout off his theories without providing links to back up his arguments, doesn't he? It was a very interesting proposal that Greyscale and Team BFF put forward. Why do you think I moved to low sec? The Nosy Gamer - Rudeness is the weak man's imitation of strength - Eric Hoffer |

How about Ore provides us with a new mining ship to fill in T3 on them.
Or add some high, med and low slots for editional modules (extra high slots doesn't have to be strip miners) just some extra way of barges and exhumers to be able to defend themselves in low sec and null sec space from invaders.
For a long time a lot of the ships have undergone a lot of changes, and even new ships have been added into the game. Though what about barges and exhumers? they havn't had better ships being put into the game on those (Venture doesn't count)
come on CCP think about the industry part of EVE also :-) |
