COSMOS Mission:
Agent - Tekirye Awazhen
Mission - Trouble With Outlaws (2 of 5)
Objectives - grab 3 miners from the lai dai refinery in airmia and take them to him.
Problem - i've been in that complex a LOT recently, and killed practically every rat there about 10 times. I've been dropped 20-30 of dogtag type(propel, nugeo and guristas) and lai dai reports.
i've been dropped ONE miner. i'm kinda annoyed now 
would have been much happier if i'd just warped in and got WTFPWNed rather than them not dropping what i need.
i think the drop rates need fixing, or i;m doing this wrong

and BTW, i am now in the chat channel for this constellation (Okkelen Archaeology)
there are 3 other people looking for them, and no-one with them

According to this list they drop in the placioglase field, from maniac cruisers, have you tried there?

Hippo, it sounds like they want you to buy three miner I's and deliver them, doesn't it?
I have read your posts for a while, so I am sure you thought of this... but based on the mission description, it sounds like a courier / trade mission to me.

I think Hippo needs a COSMOS specific trade good, not the high slot item: Miner I.
But those items are not viewable from the item-database.

I've seen priests in wow camp demons for MONTHS to get a drop required for an epic staff...
Eve is supposed to be the more mature, hard core game, but people want to give up and claim "its broken" after a few days?
Now, eve is getting an influx of players from WoW, maybe the devs decided they'd help make them feel at home witha few bs quests like this :-p

I just finished that exact same cosmos mission yesterday it took me almost 3 days, simply put the spawn rate of the maniac cruisers is retardedly low.
The only chance you have is getting there right after dt and then hope the 1 maniac cruiser actually drops a miner.
I will never again do another cosmos mission, its a total waste of time.

no, its not a miner I, its a little bloke named "miner" which only drops occaisionally from one guy who spawns every few hours in one complex and 5-6 people need 3 of them each

Someone else is taking a look at this, if there is a bug then it will probably get fixed in the Bloodlines patch (scheduled for next month).

After clearing this complex multiple times over the past few days I have to agree. I did not see even a single Maniac in that time, nor did a miner drop from any other ship.

Although i like you HippoKing and i certainly understand the COSMOS fustration
but you shout Zrakor mission borked and yeah someone is suddenly looking into it ... thats just ***expletive deleted***
Ani has many many many items like that and the spawn rate in some plexes are unreal daily there are threads about COSMOS and items that are so rare it makes you wanna cry COSMOS as a WHOLE needs a total overhaul.
Personally I fully enjoyed my time there fustration included i give CCP their dues and they have done a great job with it; with the few fustrations excepted. But for a dev to give such a response to a player in public forum TBH im totally shocked.

Maybe its me doing 28jumps in a fenrir thats got my anoyance level up :/

And Eve being the more mature game is precisely WHY people are not prepared to just sit and camp one rat over and over again until it happens to drop the right gadget. We want storylines, not a one-in-a-billion chance of the right thing coming our way.

I completly gave up on COSMOS missions after trying to find those danm miners. Had 3 others looking just like I was and one guy had been looking for 3 days.
COSMOS spawn times are a joke.
I sent in a petition and got the response copy and pasted to me that you can find above - that they are 'harder'.
Harder my ---. Try impossible with reswapn times like they are.

OK I normally don't whine about these things.
But the spawn/drop rate of this is still silly low. I've been camping the place now for 2 evenings and I have... none..
I did send in a petition about it also if it is a bug.
OK that COSMOS is fun but should we really have to dedicate several days for one mission when the reward including bonus is 1 mil isk?

I wish I'd read this BEFORE I accepted the mission.
Since the link to where things drop no longer works, can someone confirm where we get;
Encoded Lai Dai Reports
Miners
from please...and not just "at the contested Lai Dai refinery" - please also tell us which gate to go through, and which rat drops the items...
...currently sat in the Plagio field...with no rats spawning for about 20 minutes now. The warehouses I killed have come back, but not the rats.
I've done loads of other Cosmos missions and they've been a lot of fun and very rewarding. This one isn't.
By the way...the Encoded Lai Dai reports are on the market in Airmia for 2 to 6 million ISK EACH. Hopefully this will tell the GM's that something is amiss. I can't check the miners because I don't have one to look up the details.

yeah COSMOS can be like that.. . . . .
SOME decent people will help u find the items some WILL farm plexes to death and sell off for isk. if you still need Lai dai reports i have 2 i aint never gonna use. as Caldari seem not to like me. and their COSMOS is closed to me.
Mail me in game and you can have them. only got 2 but your welcome to them.

The trick with COSMOS missions is that you shouldn't accept it before you have the stuff needed unless you have to. So courier missions and killmissions where you get BMs you accept.
But if the agent want you to fly into complex A and get stuff B.. then have it as not-accepted, go get stuff B and then accept and say "i've completed the mission" straight away.. 100% bonus sure.. =)

Miner have a very low drop rate
you find them on guristas maniac (low spawn rate) and less dropping rate
you need 3 of them and that very hard
Last week i look at the market, i saw only one for 10M

What I did in the bug report was to report the low spawn rate of the Gurista Mortifier, plus the insane low drop rate of just above mentioned items.
More players do COSMOS these days and if CCP wanna make even more players work on this they have to make it a bit more profitable and doable, to spend 3-4 days doing a mission that won't even give 1 mil isk reward (but several mil isk in bounties since you will be killing A LOT of rats while camping the complex) isn't going to make more players wanna go in this profession..

I already had two miners. I have now been waiting two days for my third. In that time I have seen and killed TWO Guristas Maniacs. One didn't drop a can at all, the other dropped a can, but no miner.
CCP, this really, REALLY sucks. Just so you know.

I have, today, killed 4 maniacs. None of them dropped. Not a single miner or item. Is this right?
Two first I thought "unlucky", the two last I though stuff that won't pass the filter....
Come on, it's ok that it's hard, but I've spent 10 hours in there today, and not a single miner!

They do drop, just not very often. I got them fine for my mission, all by myself, learned where do they drop and then camped the place, it was much faster then 1 miner/4 days. Of course there is some luck involved too ;)
