Ok so I changed my password after waiting 24 hours for the email to reset it when the hacking problem was highlighted by CCP. I just logged in today and found 320 mill Isk transferred from my char at 4am this morning. Thye left my Battleships and Hacs and just took all the isk. I have a router firewall and a software firewall. I have now changed my password again, but i want to know is this a problem with my machine or is it a CCP problem. I managed to convo the char who received my isk and he confirms that his char received it and then sent it to another char. This happened without his knowledge. I have filed a petition but feel that this really spoils the game. I know I will get my isk back but I would like to know is it My machine or is it a CCP problem?

Scam ?? The isk went to a char who is over 1 year old so when he says he knows nothing about it it sounds plausible. He is also filing a petition as we speak. So who is scamming ?

Have talked to Char isk was transferred to and he has given me then name of char isk went to after it passed through his account. The char it went to is a 2 day old char.Have put all this in the petition, but it seems that the hacker problem is still here.

Well, ffs, CCP need to provide more information if they have any about exactly whats going on. I'm rapidly losing confidence in them to ensure the security of their system. Seems to me that some hacker has got the game by the balls.

With 2 tech 2 BPO's and a freighter on my other account I will let you haul. Its not the loss of the isk (tho I want it back) It's the fact that they had access to MY account. Oh and they left the 10 battleships and 3 Hacs that are in the hangar on my hacked account. So as I say haul ur own ore, you probably need the isk more than me.

Tamora, your trolling..
Devlin Marr, best thing to do is wait for the petitions, if this did really happen, then they can track it and find out where the money went, and who owns the account.. -------------

i feel for u - u would like to know if its something that has been put on youre PC (some sort of trojan) or wheater it is a hack on CCPs database in which case from the various threads they are targetting ISK and T2 BPOs as well as podding high level characters
An employee at CCP perhaps ? someone associated with the china server project has decided to stir things up on tq.
Or is it economic motivation remember we had a rogue ISD volunteer back a bit - a lot of it seems to be aimed at BOB - ?
Interesting though keep throwing those emails and petitions at CCP because if the system is comprimised again as with certain other ignored problems players will start to leave Im a happy little camper now - CCP 4tw. |

Its the fact that this has happened after the CCP password reset (my account was one of those that had the password reset by CCP).This makes me think that the probelm hasn't gone away and I would not be surprised if we don't start to see more cases of hacking in this game.

the fact a lot of it seems to have been targetted at high end accounts points to a few things post password reset
a) that if it is CCP side then they still have access to whatever flaw allowed them access (or someone with direct access to CCP database) b) that if its a trojan software downloaded from some unoffical eve site that those hacked have visited then until that trojan is found and removed then any password resets will keep happening
I really hope youre case and others can be fixed whoever is behind it is trying for what purposes ? revenge , economic - Im a happy little camper now - CCP 4tw. |

The thing that makes me think it isn't a trojan is that CCP reset a certain set of passwords but not all of them. Therefore, I conclude that they have some inside information on which accounts might have been compromised. If it was Phishing or Keylogging, they would have no way of knowing this. Ergo: it's a server-side CCP security issue.

After reading the thread I noticed that they did the same to the isk transferred from my account they sent it as 140 mill and 181 mill, wonder if CCP have a flag if a char transfers over a certain amount of isk which is why they split it into smaller amounts ?

very possible... they break the amounts that they trancfare so they dont get detected ============================================ Colossus Technologies The first and oldest corp in eve! BadIronTree Head of Production

Exactly. If this would be some kind of keylogger a mass password reset wouldn't help at all - in fact it would make things worse. Also CCP wouldn't have to be so secretive on the issue - the fact that they are points to a server side problem.
Two possibilities I can think of: Either there's a exploitable bug in the game code that makes it possible to access other people's wallets -or- part of their accounts DB got hacked.
In the latter case however the hackers either got write access to the DB so they could overwrite the hashed password strings (not likely cause it seems that people who got hacked could still login with their own password) or passwords are stored in clear text (or using a reversable and weak encryption) in the DB. Whatever it is, it doesn't make me feel easy.

ive been changing my PW every 12-24 hrs since this began, usualy from a different machine from where i log into the client (be it libray, friends, net cafe, what ever)..i would suggest others do the same, wether this is a torjan or CCP server it limits the time a hacker actualy has to do something with the info before the PW is changed. _____

I agree. I trust CCP to sort this out - although they made a mistake picking my acc because I'm broke.
CCP - if you're having problems with this - digitise me just like in Tron .. then i'll go on a mission server side. I'll soon get the culprits

Exactly. My wealth is currently tied up in BPO's, which are ironically stuck in the research pending queue when I added them all to the same queue by mistake (no cancel button!).
If anyone hacked my main, they'd not have much cash to play with .

They won't give us info for the same reason that macrominers are able to adapt. CCP released to us what would be coming in RMR, and so we saw macros already taking advantage of RMR concepts before RMR was even released. Posting what is going on the forums just risks informing whoever is doing this as to what steps CCP is taking or informing other malicious users of how to attack the cluster.
Might be worth keeping an eye on macrominer accounts (dfdsj and such) to see if large ISK amounts come into their hands randomly. Might speed the server shard for China a bit... ------------------------------------ Join Channel MacroIntel! |

just did that
and i want to ask a big SORRY from CCP and kieron that i was so stupid but i was not the only one click me with this: "Most frequently asked question : My account was reset, was it compromised?
No, this was the preventive measure taken to ensure account security."
i was missled that nothing could happend... or it was ramdom or something (the reseting)
so from my 3 accounts (2 were reseted) i keeped my main's password intact because it was so hard and big (since nothing happend to him)
one more time i want to say sorry and thanks for the fast respond ============================================ Colossus Technologies The first and oldest corp in eve! BadIronTree Head of Production

CT.....Do you mean that after CCP changed your PW you reset your main back to the old PW? Just curious, lot's of people are jumpy that we are still getting hacked even with new PW's so if you could clarify please ?
