Nonono, see, that's just another way of hiding what you're doing wrong. Get someone to take it private where the world can't see--and then blow them off and tell them tough luck. That's the standard Mushroom Treatment that GM's and "counselors" (generic for UO's literal, and extrapolated to every "volunteer" organisation in any MMO community) tend to give. But that won't wash with me.
I don't play those games with anyone. Some of us have the guts to tell the truth out in the open.
And the intimation was never that CCP's developers are ISD mods or vice versa. The intimation is that CCP screwed the game, and their ISD lackeys are doing a great job of censoring dissent that shows just -how- incompetent the devs are in designing and coding, the QA staff (assuming there -is- any) is in actually testing things themselves rather than relying on half-arsed community-based testing, and the powers that be are for letting it all carry on in such a fashion.
A few million people could tell me I'm wrong, and that CCP should be allowed to toot their own horn about how great their nonsharded implementation is, and how RMR is the cat's meow--yet should not take any public criticism. A few million peole would fail to convince me. That's not nearly enough. I mean, 40 million use AOL, and that just proves that there's mass stupidity rampant in the world, not that 40 million people are right or of sound judgement.
Actually, I'm considering writing a user review of EVE and submitting it to several game review sites like IGN. The advertising blitz on places like GuildPortal deserves a rational counter. Won't be much that CCP can do to silence a review on a site they don't have under lock and key, so long as it's legal. Probably far more effective, too. When you can bend the ears of consumers directly, it's far more effective.
When I started the game, it would have been a 9.5. By the time RMR got through with things, not to mention the community, it'd probably be at about a 2.5, maybe a 3.5 if pushed. That's how far my opinion of it dropped.
Great promise, horrible implementation.

You are entirely at liberty to discuss moderation in public.
Just NOT HERE. CCP own this board, so they can decide what to do with it. When you own it, run it, and pay the bills for it, you can change the rules to whatever you like. ________________________________________________

Ah yes, the old "the Internet will listen to me! Then you'll all be sorry!" ploy.
CCP far outshines all the gaming companies I have ever heard about in customer relations, to be honest. And the ISD mods are volunteers with fairly thankless jobs, so give them a break. ------------------------------------------- Sometimes, I wake up but keep on dreaming. |

I welcome, on behalf of humanity, your new forum ban.
Perhaps you should have gotten a clue from the string of locked threads the preceeded this, and the useful tips provided by the Mods.
Hi, Eris, my lovely locker of lame threads.

Ohnoes, I can't say whatever I want on forums that don't belong to me! I have to follow CCP's rules on CCP's forum!! This is a disaster, what can I do? Call Batman!

Sure, there may be some valid points made by the OP, but calling the Devs "incompetent" and the vol team a bunch of "lackeys" is not very constructive. Yes, it is possible to constructively critisize the efforts of the Devs or the vols without resorting to name calling.
There are reasons why the forum rules are in place and a moderation team to enforce them. Don't like the rules you agreed to to post here? Kindly take your posting elsewhere.
