Hard to say for sure. What makes you think that those errors are tied to standings not updating? Temars seems to throw a lot of errors/warnings that don't necessarily impact the application. Without seeing your install I could throw out some guesses:
1) wrong api key 2) temars not configured to update standings 3) timer for standings update invalid 4) permission on standings file incorrect at the server level and temars can't write to file

I saw in the past one person got that problem and reinstalled TEA, problem with me is since upgrade installing / uninstalling looks like bugged (many red steps while test uninstalling). I don't want to go further because of this.
I think there is maybe a chmod set problem because no avatar is uploaded in /avatars folder.
Thanks for any help.
Sounds like an SMF issue. did you migrate all your data over to the new server? If yes, did you update all the links for the forum...it isn't as simple as copying over to a new server.

And yes, same files uploaded by ftp, permissions updated, database backed up and restored, and domain was moved to new server, so links stay the same. It's like when selecting avatar image in profile (that shows uo at this place), it's not correctly uploaded in server (don't lnow location of theses avatars files) and because it's not uploaded, smf chose default image (with wrong path). Here the selection of avatar -> http://puu.sh/hXQv8/a688092d5c.pngWhen validating form going back to "No Avatar" -> http://puu.sh/hXQBe/725520163f.pngHere is the smf default image (smf installed on root directory, and not in smf like shown here) -> http://puu.sh/hXQHb/88152bf7e6.pngThanks again for any help.
I would check both your attachment and avatar settings. I'm thinking you have something setup incorrectly there, or it is setup correctly but the two folders listed there, you don't have permission to access. I would also try to attach the avatar, and then review the error logs to see what information it shows there. I would guess there would be something in either of those two places that would shed some light.

Any ideas on a simple jabber auth?
could it be a timer that has locked you out? I think I remember seeing something similar for TS but with TS i believe it was user friendly and told me how long to wait before making changes again. If you have scheduled tasks running for jabber, it could be trying to access jabber and continueing to lock you out. Maybe turn that off, then wait and see if you can make changes on the settings.
Is your SMF database also remote? If not, why not just have everything in one place?

My guess is you don't have both options checked under admin. go to admin > config > temars api > teamspeak and make sure both "use unique id" and "use online check" or whatever they are called are checked and saved. I am thinking you only get a radio option when there are two choices and yours only shows one (unique id).

Also looking for an alternative to TEA as it's been nothing but headaches for me. Also not a fan of SMF.
I'm not sure about your specific error. Sounds like something with SMF. Have you looked at what updates are needed for SMF and tried to upgrade? While SMF & TEA isn't the most user friendly, once you get it up and running, it works great. We set this up for people all the time and they love it.

What happened with the database issue that you had in your last issue you report? How did you resolve it? Is this happening for more than one user or is it the same person? have you tried to have them create a new API? Assuming it isn't "user error" then I would have them try to register, and then check the logs to see if there is any additional information that might be helpful. If it is only 1 person, I'd lean towards user error. Try it yourself (unless you are the user). I have a test server you could use if you wanted to see if it is something specific to your server. (you could just cancel the api if the registration goes through).
I'm leaning towards user error or bring more details from the logs that might shed some light.

If you haven't made the update yet, there was a minor code change required to pull roles or titles (can't remember which one). If you scroll back through the forums posts, you'll see the update that needs to be made to the code. The issue was due to an api update. Probably what you are seeing.

Hey Civalk - if you haven't resolved your issue, can you provide more detail what you are trying to do and what error you are seeing? I assume you are in the admin section for TEMARS trying to save some settings for TS. Is it throwing an error? Also, is this a brand new install or one that was working but broke?

Hey Civalk -
Hard to understand exactly what is going on. I think more information would be helfpul. Looking at the screenshot of the smf logs, seems like maybe the user is trying to register for Teamspeak through the forums and getting an error. Tough to say but my best guess is maybe someone is trying to register for Teamspeak without being logged into the Teamspeak server. If you are an admin, double check through Admin > Temars > Teamspeak that all your settings are correct and that no errors show. Assuming all that is correct, when they register using unique id, they need to be logged into the Teamspeak server with the same teamspeak id that shows in the forums.
Hope this helps. If not, try to gather the steps the person is following and the error they get (not the error in the logs but an error they get on their screen). There are lots of things that end up in the logs and not all of it is a problem in the front end. If you still can't figure it out, maybe PM me and I can give you my skype info and see if I can help you through chat.

Duncan McClain wrote:Fixing Temar's EVE API After FozzieSov Broke Standings Retrieval I saw this the other day and thought it might be useful to link it here. modify Eve API TEAC.php
I don't think the fix linked is 100% correct. What you want to do is find the text below (where it has rowset[1] and change to rowset[2]. The linked change has you make modifications to both corporate standings rowset[0] and alliance standings rowset[1]. The issue with the api is with alliance standings not pulling in. If you make the change described, then people using TEA who don't have an alliance, will have no corporate level standings pulled in. The change below pulls in both corp and alliance standings.
ORGINAL: if(!empty($xml -> result -> rowset[1])) { foreach($xml -> result -> rowset[1] as $s) { $astandings[(string)$s["contactID"]] = a } }
NEW: if(!empty($xml -> result -> rowset[2])) { foreach($xml -> result -> rowset[2] as $s) { $astandings[(string)$s["contactID"]] = a } }

Val Starweaver wrote:Hello Everyone,
Sure hope some of you smart people can help me. Kinda of a strange issue.
I have temars set up and working for the most part but I am having an issue with assigning people to an alliance group.
Currently I have it set up adding people to groups from my corp, and it works great, but when I try to do the same thing for the alliance it is not working. It will not assign any person to the group UNLESS they are an admin.
I have check the alliance ID and its correct and when I check each person's profile it shows them in the alliance, but temars will not add them to the usergroup I created, unless you are an admin.
I have also recreated the group and created a new group for temars to add to, but nothing.
Thanks Val
It would be helpful if you posted your rules so we can see what you have. Without that I'm thinking it is a shot in the dark...so with that in mind here is what I'm thinking....
I think main rules can only have 1 rule apply and the order of rules is very important. The additional rules can have more than one rule. When we do installs for people with alliances, we do a main rule for alliance. Then if they want to drill down by corporation, they add those as additional rules. If I had to guess you have corp as a main rule, then you also add alliance as a main rule. It hits the corp rule first and so never gets the alliance rule.
If that isn't it, provide more information about your rules (best a screen capture) and I can try to provide feedback based on that.

Which of these rules is the "alliance" one that isn't working? Is it rule #1 from the screenshot? For one of the people where it doesn't apply the rule, what group are they currently in?
I would recommend setting up the main rules to get the best bang for your buck.

It is a package. You would install it like any other SMF Package. So first you need to install SMF, then install any desired packages.

I'll blow away this install shortly and see if it was an issue with SMF before the module was added and report back. The virtual server has 8GB of RAM with 4 processing cores. Per linux commands I'm only using 3GB of RAM right now. I've been trying to find the command to increase memory allocation to MySQL but my Google skills seem to be off these days.
More than enough RAM. We use recommend 2gb ram vps to run smf, ts3, jabber, evew, and SEAT. Just smf with TEA shouldn't use all that much

I get a blank page like you. when I view source, there is nothing there. Did SMF work prior to installing TEA? So you install TEA and load the forums and the page loaded? I assume yes since TEA is a plugin/add-on to SMF but figured I would ask. Do you have root access on your server?

On a brand new VPS (nothing on it) we can do installs for between 3.5-4.5 bil. On an existing server the price is more due to how we install our images and more work to ensure we don't mess anything up.

Could this be a CentOS thing? I see you run Ubuntu. I doubt it cares what Linux distro I'm using.
I'm going to build a VPS with nothing on it and install from scratch tomorrow night and see what happens then. Pretty strange that this is an issue that dates clear back to 2004 with SMF. Anyone else have any ideas to try out? Would love to have this software running for my corp and alliance.
I would be surprised if it is a CentOS thing. You never answered the question whether the forums (SMF) worked prior to installing TEA. That would be pretty helpful. That would tell us if it is an SMF issue or TEA issue. I'm thinking SMF.
The symptoms go back to 2004. Doesn't mean your specific issues does. Narrow your search by using SMF 2.0...see what comes up. You should try some different searches to see what else you can come up with. I didn't really look very close, just that there was some stuff out there you could try.

If you get errors with just SMF, then the issue doesn't have to do with TEA. I can tell you we don't use control panels for our installs and do everything on Ubuntu 14.04 LTS 64x. I am sure that doesn't help much aside to know that it does work for people. Let us know if you figure out the issue or make any progress. If I haven't suggest this already, I might recommend spinning up a temporary test server somewhere (like amazon ec2, or digital ocean) and running the install there to see if it works. If it works, you know the process you are following is correct and it is your configuration. If it doesn't work it could be the steps you use to install, or something unrelated (on smf's side).

Am poring over all the modified files now to see if there's some other little problem I missed, but if anyone knows the fix for this and wants to save me some time, I'd be grateful! Is that correct?
From a rule/group perspective. your Main group rule, any one account should only fall into one rule. So you'd maybe to do a corp/alliance rule, maybe do an invalid, maybe do a red rule, maybe do a blue rule. Everything else should probably fall under additional. Also, you'd probably want to make any rule to include your corp info. The way you have it now, anyone could sign up on your forum and as long as they have mining frigate, they would get the group, even if they have nothing to do with your corp. Not sure if that was what you were looking for...
