Like the Amarr say, Mr. Ixiris, God punishes evil. In this case the Amarrians are discovering that the door in that particular aspect of their Scriptures happens to swing both ways.

I am quite happy with Gutter Press the way it is. I feared this article may have been a sign of change until their most recent article reinstated my faith in its satire.

I don't think Midular wanted to see war in the first place so I don't see how you can really honor her through war with the Amarr.

It is gratifying to see that some remember history.
I confess to often wondering often how different things might be if the Ray of Matar had been allowed to continue her work. Ever considered the possibility that Gutter Press, this article in particular, might be a Ministry of Internal Order shadow operation ?
By commenting on the loss of all systems on the Amarr side of the border, it galvanised the Crusade, and now a number of Imperial systems are again controlled by the Empire.

Only her words constantly fell on deaf ears with God's chosen. You quote a time where your kind threw it in her face more than ever helped her and talk in her passing how she is a ray of light now because the alternative is less in your pockets.
If she was what you like to believe she was, you would have treated her better.
I'll ask you once like the savage I am to kindly not slander her name further.
When the Emperor was assassinated by the Covenant, did the Republic rejoice? Did we chant in the streets and dance with God's justice? No. A good man died that day, though a still slaver in the eyes of the Matari, none of us stepped in front of the fierce justice the Empire brought to the Covenant after.
We let you grieve in your nature.
Through blood or other savage ways we mourn, our nature flourishing while other Matari condemn us saying its not our nature.
Perhaps it is a trick we learned from our holders. |

Fortunately, the actions of clone mercenaries will remain irrelevant to our conflicts, as always.
As it is, EoN should find another trick pony to ride; the Matar 'victory' tripped over its own feet and fell short more than a week ago, as is always the case. Already the Amarr are making a push back into the warzone. Rifterlings pirate corporation is now recruiting pilots for lowsec solo & small gang operations. Actually, the actions of clone mercenaries are far from irrelevant. Not only, as has been mentioned in this thread, might they create a window for planetside evacuations or other transportation of civilians and goods if ground control coincides with space superiority. In addition, I have myself witnessed at least two cases where control has pushed a system into or out of "vulnerable" status. (I suspect there are more of those and on both sides, but I know of these two, as they were times when I was there in contact with the ground forces that achieved the victories.)

I have no doubt that it was helpful in allowing the Matar push to once again fall short. Then again, our militia has apparently long been full of squabbling and internecine conflict, to the point that it prevents any ultimate push to root out the few truly entrenched Amarr forces. It always comes down to a bare handful of systems, and it always falls flat. Rifterlings pirate corporation is now recruiting pilots for lowsec solo & small gang operations. I viewed much the same thing happening just as the tide turned in our own war effort. It's my experience that, no, they don't feel any regrets. The decision was made for business or for reasons of pride. |

I believe you have your own problems.
As for the backstabbing, I could pull the card of it being our savage nature but then that would imply I really don't have any hope in my fellow kin.
Instead, on behalf of the Matari, I am sorry. May in time both the tribes and the immortals within our ranks pulls their heads out of their asses. The things we could do if they did...

That's a pendulum that's swung once in my memory. Granted the warzone between the Amarr/Matari is more stable than our own, but it's still not the case that ANY of the militias 'gets the job done'. |
