I just got my Brutix, and I don't have lots of high level skills (so don't give any setups loaded with T2 guns etc), nor do I have lots of extra cash to blow on this (41mil in wallet), but I can't find a good setup for killing NPC's.
Right now I've got: 7x Dual 150mm Scout Railguns 10MN MWD I, X5 webber, 2x Cap Recharger I 1600mm Reinforced steel plate I, Dark Blood Medium armor Rep, 2x Energized thermic membrane, 1x Thermic membrane I.
Right now I'm exclusively fighting Blood Angel NPCs that do all thermal damage, thus the thermal resistance plating. My optimal range is around 7.5km, but it seems like I'm not doing enough damage (20-40 dmg/shot). I also use 5x Vespa I drones.
Help please?

Edited by: Jenny Spitfire on 12/01/2006 04:20:23 Low: Thermic hardener Kinetic hardener EM hardener Dark Blood MAR Magnetic field stab
Mid: 2x cap recharger x5 web Tracking computer
High: 7x 250mm rails
Drones: 5 Hammerheads
Kill NPCs at ur distance. May not be a very good one but I would try this first. Angels mainly do thermal, kinetic and sometimes EM dmg. ----------------

I can't seem to fit more than 5x 250mm rails on that setup, maybe its just my skills.

7 x ion blasters
1 x 10mn ab 1 x web 2 x cap chargers (named if u got'em)
1 x dark blood med rep 1 x small T2 rep....200k i think, worth it as brutix bonus applies 3 x rat specific hardeners for safety (ie 2 kin 1 therm for gurristas)
5 x med drones targeting npc's lowest resistance
Thats my first and only attempt at a PVE brutix setup and something tells me its bunk....

I am a low skill Brutix flyer and can manage all level 3's though some require warp outs.
High slots I use 5 250 mm rails, 2 150 mm rails for the frigates that get close. I also use 4 medium drones for close and fast ships.
Medium I use a y-s8 afterburner, 3 cap recharger I's, or 2 and a webber if I am dealing with fast webber/scrambler frigates.
Low is a named medium armor repair, a damage control unit, a basic charged nano plating, an injector I (30 m/s) and a power diagnostic unit
Most misisons can be tanked with the damage control and adaptive nano plate, but some require subbing the adapative and injector out for two specific plates.
My skills are crap but this set up works. basic strategy is to run and shoot. The 250's with iron hit out to 60km's, use your drones whenever possible.

That would be a really bad combination. 250mm is not meant for close range combat..things should usually die before they reach you. Sure you can hit even at 5km with AM but most of the time rats don't get that close. Here's a sniper setup i've been using for a while, ratting in 0.2:
HI: 7x 250mm 'Scout' Accelerator Cannons' Med: AB, target painter, web, medium SB Low: 2-3 RCUs, cap relay, damage mods maybe a small armor rep..try different combinations. 5x medium drones
You will probably need 3 RCUs with low skills. You get around 40km optimal with tungsten and you can deal decent damage. If they get closer switch to AM and everything will pop FAST..with AM you'll deal some serious damage especially if you fit some damage mods. The medium SB is used because you don't really need tanking, you can't fit a med armor rep and the low slots are better used damage mods/rcu.
