after a week of learning how to play, i've decided to re-start fresh.
i'm curious if i'll be able do well in terms of ISK, without focusing on any gunnery-like skills (courier missions?). in a gang or fleet i'm hoping to be able to disrupt enemy ships as my role, or somthing along those lines. is this a viable path?
i don't want to do any mining related work.
any tips regarding usefull skills for this playstyle?
off-topic question while i'm at it: can repair drones be sent to repair teamates?

As I understand it, repair drones can only repair teammates.

You wont run out of ISK running courier missions. It may not be a glamourous as Security Missions but you can make plenty of ISK doing them. as far as a support role if your Caldari fly a Kestrel missile barge and just sit back with long range missles and provide fire support. that with a larger cargo space you will be able to carry all the RAT loot and then split it amongst your gang. Alot of possibilities. just grow and develop as you go and go where you want.

The traditional ways of making ISK by shooting stuff are by doing missions (for primarily security agents) and npc hunting. Both are quite valid ways of making enough ISK to survive and I have to say that once you've got a few months under your belt and are in a battle-cruiser or preferably a battleship, that making ISK in npc'ing in 0.0 is very profitable for the time spent. Then there are the more controvertial ways of making isk by shooting such as pirating, they are always alternatives that have the potential to bring in enough to earn a living but can be hit and miss.
Yes you can play a very effective role in pvp within the first few days in your career by flying fast frigates, fitting a micro warp drive and playing the 'tackler' role which is generally to warp scramble and stasis webbify the target. As you progress you can expand the types of support roles that you want to assume, for example perhaps you want to be a target jammer flying a Scorpion or a gang assist pilot in a Recon ship. Key skills will be electronic warfare, propulsion jamming and navigation/afterburner early on with probably many of the electonics related skills as you go on. You will learn a lot about the possibilities over time and choose a role that you enjoy. The key to getting there fast is to specialise.
I hope that gives you some ideas. Also, yes repair drones can be sent to repair teamates.
