PPL still get hacked..... CCP any info on this or...???

Pumbkin	Posted - 2006.01.12 22:18:00 - [1] a friend of me got hacked today.... all isk was transfered to a second char in a well known corp so it seems that he also got hacked??? So WHATS going on ccp? when i go away for 30 days will i get back to 3 ripped of acc cause i cant keep an eye on my acc.... a official response on the problem would be really really nice.

What news are you talking about? I don't see anything in Player News Center, Stickes on this forum or the main page about hacked accounts and what's causing it. CCP needs to come out and say something like: "We've been compiling information and it seems that most of the accounts hacked were using weak passwords / were using Kazaa / had visited such and such a site and downloaded some program / our servers were hacked but it's been fixed now / someone's spoofing packets and causing incorrect money transfers between characters." Something to that people know what they can do, or not do, to avoid being hacked since it's apparently still happening, even to people who did change their passwords. We don't need to know how busy they are, we need to know it's fixed and what we need to do to prevent it. -- Lil Miner

WTF do they want, a GM or DEV to jump in and wave a wand full of that magic server pixiedust...and all the woes and lag will go away, so they can spend time babysitting the "i want it now' crowd. Let CCP do their job. They may be feeding info to the police, hoping to catch the criminals, and posting could alert them to what CCP is doing...(RL thing kiddies, cant catch the crooks if the crooks are avoiding the place the police are at)

My car radio was stole a few years ago btw. (as you can tell, that's not going to hinder me, my car, or the police effort to find my radio with the matrix soundtrack in it)

ATM it dont seem like they have any clue at all what to do.. network forensics is not an easy thing, lots of logs to read, packet sniffing, tracing, lots more, and above all else, no error on the final results least you incur the godawful-lawsuit-of-doom, by pressing charges on someone that was innocent. I think CCP will tell us when they are done, so the bad people will have no clue what CCP is doing or if they have any idea how it is being done. WE will know when it is solved, (btw they have post showing that they are looking into things if you look around, but a search function would help). ....and as far as the twit that mocked you for not having english as a primary tounge, ignore the moron and please dont assume that is how most feel (I think your english is very good). English is my primary, and my grammer and spelling suck...YOU should be proud of your english skills!
