why cant you tell us in advanced that your doing upgrades to the server? or that downtime will be a little longer then normal and give us a reasonable approximation.
look, I understand about server upgrades and whatnot, and how you have to extend downtime, but when you have intentions of doing it, or even the slightest possibility of it occurring, please tell us in the notifications of downtime I.e.. 1hr, 30min, 15min etc.
if you give us a approximation of say DT will be 1hr longer then normal, that's ok, I will be prepared for it. If you say an hour longer and come up before it great, but if you go over it we will be annoyed. I'm sure you can always over estimate when it will be back up, just try not to underestimate. For us Australian's dt is towards the end of our playing night, it is frustrating when we are expecting eve to be back up like normal and then we get a spanner in the works 'extended by 30min' then 'extended by an hour'
anyways I know downtime can't be helped. all I'm asking for is a little more notification and over approximation on when the server will be brought up.

Notification before hand would be nice. You know you going to be doing the upgrades please plan a bit better and notify your customers.

omg... don't u think out fo the box, there could of been something wrong, as in a fix went the wrong way and turned out for the worse and now they are trying to fix the promblem, to make u life abit more better in eve, u need to have more life and abit of patients |

like i said.. over estimate approx server downtime.

so ur tell me, you can for an exsample that you could be driving to work then get caught in a traffic jam, that you would phone work say u be late, or just go with the flow and wait like the rest, for the emergences services are help out down the road
or
be in a rush pull out from the crowd got on the wrong side of the road cause more of a promble, by making a hugh pile up and dieing in the process. makeing more work for the emergences pick ur dead body from the car all because you wanted to get to work on time |
