"Reduces the maximum speed of a ship by employing micro energy streams which effectively entangle the target temporarily, thereby slowing it down." - from items database
last night i lost another tempest to a lvl 4 mission,my corp m8 in his typhoon was able to warp away and when he was gone all the agro ships turned on me including several webbers np thinks i, ill warp out too, plenty of health left, but when i try my ship refuses to move not just forward movement but aligning for warp, turning on the spot, so i have to sit there and slowly die because my ship seems to have turned to stone i have only noticed this sinse RMR and only with the tempest, my corp m8 in his phoon was webbed by exactly the same ships and yet was able to align and warp out with no problems
can anybody tell me if this is what webs are meant to do ? i mean to totally disable all movement of any kind or is this a bug? and if its not a bug does it need changing ?
i would petition this but i seem to be petitioning alot sinse RMR came out and its getting embarrasing, however if this is a bug i wont complain if a kindly GM wants to drop 30 mill in my account to cover my insurance loss :)

I think I've had this happen before. If there are webbers, keep aligned for warp before you get webbed.

lvl 4 missions also have ships that scramble. you corp mate probably wasn't scrambled, you were. Unfort there is no way of know if you are scarmbled, which sucks. Fit a stab for lvl 4 missions.

what exact effects should webs produce? cause personally i think its a bug with ship movement but if its offically not then people will know not to petition it as such

I went and check the item database.
Because I was convinced webbers also had an effect on manouverabilty.
But after looking up your standard Statis Webifier it doesn't seem to.

and 1 webber wont produce this effect but multiple will i suspect its a problem with the way the game makes your ship move, but perhaps teh devs intend it to be that way ?

One webber doesn't affect how long it takes to align for warp? It seems like it does to me, but maybe it's all in my head since I just expect it to.

i can remember a post on this forum a long time back now where somebody was sayign that you shoudl infact align faster when your webbed because of the lack of forward movement
at 0.0 speed your ship should turn on the spot and even a bs will turn quite fast

Sounds like you were scrambled. As the previous poster stated, webbing actually helps you align for warp.
However, the message that you are being warp scrambled appears on your screen for about a billionth of a second before its washed away in the general battle spam.
Which CCP need to fix, like, soon (TM).

i wasnt scrambled you can see when you are cause of the blue pulsing beams that come from teh orbiting frigates apart from which i was prepared for scramblers as this was not the first time we had done this mission

Despite their descriptions, they DO actually reduce your agility, as getting webbed by 4 will more or less pin you to the "floor"...
On a side note, Webbers are the most agressive weapon available, simply because there is not effective counter to it. Guns have repairers, scramblers have WCS's, Webbers have...? An AB doesn't nearly resore the penalty, and activating a MWD when your webbed just helps you die that little bit faster... Using a webber doesn't really counter it either... it just nerfs the other ships speed as well...
Im not saying change it... I'm just pointing it out
