So here goes.
I did a mission, looted everything (was looking for a mercenary) and went back to station. Took another mission, then engaged autopilot (mission is three jumps away, through the exact same gates as the previous missions).
I go to the bathroom for 30 seconds to wash my hand (I was eating chips and they were greasy if you must know...) when I come back I'm in the system where the mission is, with a message in the center of my screen that says contraband was found, they will scramble and web me for my own protection (whatever) and I jettison the contraband and clicl yes. Nothing happens (although I found it odd ... I was like how did I warp out if they said they would scramble).?
I finish the mission, warp back to the station, and this is when the fun happens. They aggro me and boom.
I get a kill mail, but no insurance. Funny thing is, I still have the insurance mail issued on the 2nd , 24 minutes after the transaction to buy it.
So I lost a ship, no insurance (althought I was). Did the hardware problem ****** up everything or is it because it's friday 13th???
1) How the hell did my autopilot warped me out if they said their 12BS garding the gate would scramble me... 2) Why didn't I get a any warning after clicking yes? 3) Why didn't I get insurance back at least (wtf is that ... I NEVER REPACKAGED IT).
It was a Ferox. I signed a petition for this, what are the chances I'll get my ship back, at least the insurance?

Seen a few post like this recently, could CCP be sneakily testing new systems for smuggling in preperation for kali where certain items are likely to become harder to move across certain borders.

oooo, that would be fun, wouldn't it? Set it up so the unkillable NPCs randomly blow up players' ships, just to keep them on their toes.
No. I don't think so.
I had the same thing happen to me (as the OP) last night. I petitioned for reimbursement or a confirmation of whether this "feature" is working as intended. I still haven't heard back.

Yea its possible... But then people will start using expanders on carriers and dreads and moving contriband. No gates = no custom officials. Low sec = no custome officials.
But that sure is a high price to pay to smuggle something after all.

What gets me in this is that I didn't get insurance AND I pressed YES to the fee and everything...
To prevent this: 1) Autopilot should have automatically disengaged. So I read it 2 jumps later (why did I not get popped BEFORE returning?) 2) Why did I manage to warp out? If I hadn't, this wouldn't have happened 3) What's up with getting 9,6mil back saying I'm not insured when I am?
So, I don't understand.

A similar thing happened to me last friday.
I finished looting a mission, including 10 units of Crash, set autopilot to my agent system, warped to the gate and was blown up by Customs Officers even tho I paid the fine.
I petitioned it, hoping it's a bug. |

I might not get the ship back, but I still have the insurance e-mail and I managed to loot my can with all arbalests and hardeners. I lost missiles , a shield booster and an afterburner , so it's not that bad.
I prefer losing 7M for insurance than 23M for the ship if I had to chose between insurance only or nothing.

Those ships aren't undestroyable just very costly to kill off and I point out there are already some smuggling bonus's attached to some implants thus the underlying system is already there. Chances are there will be a system implemented to reduce the number of gallente flying caldari ships when caldari and gallente goto war in kali or at least make em hard to come by outside of caldari space and illegal to move em across borders

Well like I said the problem about contraband isnt what ****ed me off... its the fact that although I pressed yes to pay the fee they blew up my ferox and didnt even pay the insurance back...

TBH the fine thing is abit too 'nice'. I'm sure that if you were caught transporting slaves in the minmatar repbulci, they'd only fine you. They wouldn't obliterate your ship and pod, oh no, just a fine...
I hope to god in Kali we see some red-ass beatdowns on smugglers. If I scan someone and they have contraband I should beable to report it then open fire on them after getting the 'ok' from the empire who runs that system.

Well he CCP choses to ignore this, I don't mind petitioning once a day. It's just a question of principle I think. If you paid the fine, you shouldn't get yourself blowned to pieces

I told ya... CCP listens. They answered me within 24 hours:

Below are some examples of what this might be:
1. Hardware problems: Detailed info on your computer specs. (Preferably use the DirectX diagnostics tool to acquire this information) 2. Game play problems: username. (if you are not sure whether this is relevant, please include it anyway) 3. Reimbursement requests: location (such as station or system names) and as exact time details as possible.

That ain't a bug. You looted known contraband, hence the small skull and crossbones in the item's picture, and proceeded to go and wave at customs officials. People see those items drop in their missions all the time.

He means that you're not allowed to post replies from GMs, though what you got was an automated reply and not a real person sending it to you.
Don't think it's necessary to remove automated messages.

Had about the same happen to me.
I was running a complex, completed it and needed to buy some equipment. I dock open market but my items list seems to be bugged. I reload, buy what i needed, undock and concord blows up my ship. My cargo? Ammo and some T1 mods
This happened last friday i think, i petitioned it gotten a responce yesterday for a datestamp for the killmail. So its going quite slow with responces.
Hope they fix this, really ****ed me off, buy a ishkur, fit it T2 and then concord blows it up without a reason.

The petition queue has been very long since the whole password situation, should be shorter now though.

Had the same thing happened to me two days ago. Warped to gate after a mission. I had picked up some contraband from the blood raider transports. Concord Sarum customs general scanned my ship and found the contraband. I had a message and clicked yes to accept the confiscation. At this point concord ships and turrets have started to lock on me, and they attacked! Lost my fully outfited HAC (ouch!). I had an auto evemail indicated the confiscated contrband and paid fine! I petitioned it got an automated reply...still waiting

You didn't even read the entire thread. Fee was paid.
On top fo that, the mail I received stated I wasn't insured when I was. Anyway, I sent them all kill mail and insurance cotract reference # as well as timestamps and I'll wait from there.

This happened to me also. Stop or we'll blow you up. And then they blow me up anyway. Petitioned, looked next day, I had no petitions. Petitioned again. Have not looked again to see if I have a petition. I guess I should do that.
I have the mail saying the stuff was confiscated and I got a standing loss and fine. I also have the mail saying they blowed me up, lol YARRR. Someone has a good sense of humor.
I did get the insurance payout but it didn't cover the cost of equipment and cargo on an Apoc just coming back from a lvl 3 mission. I would at least like my insurance money back, eh?
