Looking to outfit either a Cyclone or a Tempest for LVL 3 agent missions.
Does anyone have suggestions? I believe the majority are Rogue Drones and Angels.

For a level 3, battleships tend to be overkill (as you can probably lose 3 cyclones and still not be in as much debt as you would be losing a bs). I would recommend the cyclone purely because it is a battlecruiser, but i have no experience of flying one. Hope this helps.

I should clarify...
Ship type and loadout required
or variations of each.
Working on Path to War or whatever it is now and finding that the tempest, with the big guns, is a pain in the arse for part 2

I do L3's in an Assault Frigate (Wolf). Not nearly as fast as a Typhoon, but a lot of fun. My setup isn't the best, its what I had lying around in my hangar.. but it gets the job done.
3x 280mm 'Scout' 250mm 'Scout' Arb Rocket w/Defenders
Webifier Eutetic Cap Recharger
Small Armor Repairer II Cap Power Relay
Then the last two lowslots depend on the mission:
Blood Raiders/Sansha: Thermic Hardener, Gyrostabilizer II Gurista/Mordu/Serpentis: Kenetic Hardener, Thermic Energized Angel/Thukker/Mercenary/Rogue Drone: Explosive Hardener, Kenetic Energized

Hrmm, so no one has any details on the larger cousins to the Wolf like the Cyclone and the Tempest?

This cyclone set up works pretty well - it rquires occassional warp outs on a couple of missions.
High 5 220 ACs named 3 assult launchers named
Med 2 hardeners 1 medium shield booster 1 Afterburner 1 webber
low 2 PDS II 2 Tacking enhancer II
If your new to level 3s you might want to fit a stab in a low slot. Once your used to lvl 3s you really dont need it because this set up is good at wiping out webber/jammer frigs.
Wherever you went - here you are.

by problems with "big guns", I assume the level has lots of frigs and cruisers in it.
A tempest with 720mm artillery, 2 webs, 2 heavy launchers, afterburner, light & medium drones and a heffing great armour tank should be able to sort it out.

Rat-specific hardeners, large booster, web, large extender... mwd .
That doesnt fit. You only have 5 mid slots on a cyclone.

oops, sod the extender or web then (use drones to kill the friggies and you shouldn't need the web)

So I'm guessing this means no one goes with the 3x Invuln Field II setups?

I used my Cyclone for L3 missions before RMR, but I haven't done any missions since. This is what I used
5x 650mm Howitzers (If you can fit them, use 720s instead) 3x Heavy Launchers (switch to Assault Launchers for drone missions or other missions where you know you won't be facing cruisers)
1x Large T2 Booster 1x Shield Amp 1x 10mn AB 1x Target Painter (we got a new mid slot in the patch, but I honestly don't know what else would fit for this setup depending on your skills. If you have the room, I suggest a shield hardener, probably an invulnerability field)
PDSes in all the lowslots. Replace with Gyros if you're feeling dangerous.
Use 4 medium combat drones (I like Hammerheads), and they will take care of any tacklers with the help of the Target painter or assault launchers if you're using them.
This setup has seen me through all but the toughest level 3 missions. Maybe with the love the Cyclone has gotten I could actually survive the 2nd level of The Spy Stash, or manage those Mercenary wingmen and commanders in Black Market Hub without warping away. Who knows!

Cyclone :
5 720mm IIs, 2 assaults, 1 standard
1 AB, 1 Tracking Comp II, 1 Large Shield booster II, 2 Hardners
3 PDU IIs, 1 Gyro II
4 heavy drones to match NPC
works wonders
