Decided to pick the game up again after like 3 years, was hoping for a bit of help to get back into it, was gonna start doing some pve stuff and moving from there. For ships I dun have a lot, have a Kronos and Astarte (+ lots of cheap pvp ships) used to pve in them once in a while.
Iirc I used to mainly do missions for angels in 0.0 I dunno how that is going now days, was planning on doing some high sec stuff for now. Have missions changed or have tactics change a lot?
Thanks! |

There have been lots of changes. I'd recommend reading the Dev Blogs
To get you started I will just mention that aggression mechanics have been streamlined (simplified) and missions have had the AI changed to switch targets. |

Welcome back to Eve.
There have been major changes to this game, especially within the last 3 yrs. Way too many to list everything.
To reacquaint yourself with the game, you might wanna do a quick run through of the Tutorial and the 5 different Career Agents.
Also don't forget to check your character sheet - skills section. You just might have some extra skill points available due to the removal of the 'Learning' skills along with the various Agent Divisional 'Connections' skills being condensed into 3 different types.
Good luck to you.

think by now pretty much every ship is different from earlier, crimewatch (the highsec-engaging stuff) has been changed, and the recent changes to local tanking make a good difference, to point out the imo most crucial ones. https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=3633385&#post3633385

Yeah, local tanking is a lot stronger, resist tanking slightly weaker, some medium range weapons don't perform as well as they used to, but short and long range weapons are generally stronger with some exceptions, you might have missed the introduction of the tier 3 battlecruisers too which in my opinion are the best balanced ships in the game having the right mix of firepower and vulnerability.
There's also been significant changes to mining barges and industrials, all for the better as the hulk and the itty mk5 are no longer king of the hill.
Scanning is easier but exploration is overall a disappointment, at least that seems to be the community's consensus.
Welcome back i hope you enjoy it and have lots of fun. Dumbing down of Eve Online will result in it's destruction... |
