I calculated the odds of this succeeding versus the odds I was doing something incredibly stupid... and I went ahead anyway. |

Edited by: LordMordred on 15/01/2006 13:42:42 A good effort was put forth by the locals. A number of alliances and corps showed up when the secret got out early this morning that a group of 3 haulers and a single Curse recon ship where taking down a large tower.
It was a quiet night however some attention was drawn when 2 of the haulers where sited that night, within an hour a multi-alliance and corp force showed up to attack our Large tower which was unanchoring itself. They brought in a hauler to try and scoop it. We only had 5 pilots against 20-30.
But with the use of a covert ops frig, some skillful bookmark making, and a brave hauler pilot, we scooped the tower right from under the enemy before they could finish returning to the server.
The Covert ops had setup a bookmark at a distince behind the tower from the safespot. With 1 minute to spare before the universe slept for a short time, the bookmark made it to the Hauler. When things in the universe returned to normal. Our hauler, and my Curse had managed to log in, and one enemy cruiser.
I warped in just seconds before our hauler arrived to find the enemy cruiser already there, I engaged the Maller and dispatched of it just in time. As the ship went pop the enemy battleships and support had started warping in on me, and I escaped. Large tower in tow, and a kill to boot.
The amazing part of the whole thing is seeing just how many didn't like us
Good try guys, kudos on working together with little time to prepare.

Edited by: Katjia on 15/01/2006 16:11:41 hehe alil more backstory so you know how random it was..the original group was going to head to kdf area for somefun when we heard reports of 3 targets in kbp ...no ship types known at this point....so they traveled to kbp with 1 scout all the scout saw was your ship and couldn't id it right off the bat so poof ther they went to get your ship....alil chasing and a chance run on the scanner ...and then came the calvary...it was very funny to hear it over ts... "now way" "your kidding me" "raven went this way..."
so it was all by chance, which strikes me as pretty funny..
second thing of chance was me coming up threw XHQ and bumping into a raven...who knew ....hehe that lead to those festivities
so if ya hadn't scared the **** outta some hauler in kbp i think you would have had a very quite night :P but of course wheres the fun in that.
btw rumor is a butterfly flapped it's wings in brazil , ther was a avalanche in the urals and a valcano erupting in alaska that may or may not also had something to do with that 20s.

Well I hope TSDS is going to stick around a bit longer. I'm not ready to go back to carebear mode.

LOL, I got a text msg this morning from Hans about 7am central with a link to a screenshot of the tower unanchoring. I logged at 2am and he was still on, he said he waited till a decent hour to text me.. 7 AM! I don't think some of our guys got too much sleep last night.
