Edited by: Teister on 24/08/2003 09:31:41 Edited by: Teister on 24/08/2003 09:31:02 Background: The CFS alliance was holding a 16 player Frigate vs. Frigate tournament, when Tassedar in a Megaton intruded upon our festivities. The following is the naval report posted by our Coalition Navy Commander Bas Rutten on our boards:
"Tassedar, member of notorious pirate corp. M3G4 was spotted by local pilots in ********. As soon as he undocked and was spotted in a belt by Captain UnfriendlyFire, the later promoted and now being First Captain of CFS Navy Reserve Azulth (in a Vigil) warped to that belt, locking on him and using warp scrambler and stasis web to keep the Megathron battleship from warping out. Both CFS pilots then willingly took on the hostile battleship in their frigates, waiting for reinforcements which shortly afterwards arrived, when Cmdr of CFS Navy Reserve Bas Rutten warped in, target jamming the M3G4 ship in his ********. The now disabled ship had to face four more threats when 4 CFS Navy battleships (one a 1 Naval Reserve) entered the roid belt, opening fire on the Megathron. Shortly afterwards, the ship exploded with only 1st Capt Azulth¦s and Captain U.Fire¦s ******** having taken damage in their heroic attack on the huge enemy vessel. "
Shortly afterwards, the participating CFS pilots received hate mail from Tassedar which I will post below, these being too good to keep to ourselves.

Not the old "I got destroyed but I don't care because I'm quitting" message, from a M3G4 player as well?
Well played Teister. I wouldn't worry about the threat, they're probably all too busy quitting.

yes ,the pirate guy in Megathron is a total jerk, his messages are unbelivable. If I understand right he will buy isk on E-bay or somwhere with rl money ,and then use it to put bountys on the corp, even when he is not playing anymore. And just to make the corp palyers hate the game.
One sick person.

and Tassedar is one of the new members, and not really part of the main "crew" probably another noob in a battleship!

You are correct sir, it is a bit misleading. However, the fact is, the Vigil caught it and held it for the rest of our forces to catch. Amazingly, he was not even destoryed, nor was he our tourment champion.
It seems to me, and I guess that this applies to a lot of corporations, that the qualities of players in a corp vary widely, and even more so in a pirate corp. Nevertheless, even a highly skilled pirate should not seek danger solo. We destroyed another megatron flown by a well known pirate a few days eairler who ventured out alone.

Please correct me if wrong, but is Tass someone who purchased the account? If so while his character may have skills, he did not seem to have a clue about EVE PvP, nor RL for that matter.
In any case, I am sure that many of your corp members, as well as yourself, are highy skilled, and would present a far greater challenge. You would also probably would not stay in a system which had 40 players in local and most of them have this "CFS alliance member" in their description. I also understand that he does not speak for your corporation, infamous as it is.

Though I do admit he doesn't sound very intelligent or intimidating for that matter, especially if his BS couldn't handle a few frigates (before the reinforcements arrived).

I logged off yesterday before all this took place but i remember Tessandar being docked in the same station i was in....i was waiting to take my load of minerals to a factory there. Obviously i didnt undock while having a m3g4 pilot in dock with me so i called it a night.
IMO, one thing you have to realise when your a pirate is that you wont be flying that pretty bship forever. Pirates tend to hang out in low sec zones, this is also the place where pirate hunters hang out. If your a noob in a bship with a good secrating and obviously are very adverse to losing your ship (like tessandar) you should really stick to high sec zones or check how on or off limits sertain places are to your person ;).
As for the 'you attacked me unprovoced', he was a member of a known and strong piratecorp. Thats all the provocation most of us need basically.
Eventhough the thread may be misleading i think congradulations are in order. Warping in to scramble and stasis a battleship with your vigil is not something everyone would do and the fact of the matter remains that the megathron, wich is a top of the line battleship, was completely disabled by 300k worth of frigate. All firepower tending to is destruction afterwards was secondairy...could have been more frigates, could have been cruisers...it doesn't matter as the bship was dead in the water.
Tessandar was obviously outskilled on this one and his reaction to this fact made it worth a thread i believe.
*i shiver at the thought of having a real life $ bounty on my head hehehe*
Originally by: cashman It's time for Eris to get a clue. CCP should make a statement about this.
It's the exact same things as what Zombie did, you may not attack in "safe-areas" (empire/within sentry range) without loosing your ship.

You will be pleased to know that Bas Rutten, the commander in charge of the operation, gave "Elephant Balls" Azulth a field promotion, which I latter confirmed upon hearing the details. That action, as well as others were Azulth has shown excellent skills and tactics during PvP, earned him the promotion.

Before you say Tachyons are good for taking frigates out.. they are the fastest tracking L beam lasers. They bloody are good for hitting frigates. He should have had some Multifrequency L in his cargo bay and swapped crystals out. one volley (from one laser) = dead frigate.

They might be the fastest tracking L laser, but I still doubt they would be very effective at hitting a fast, agile frigate orbiting at 500 - 1000m. I know he tried to shoot the Vigil, but no damage was reported by Azulath. I think he would have done a lot better to use his drones... we recovered 7 or 8 heavy drones from his wreckage, but he never launched them during the battle. +++

If he had launched his drones, I'm 100% certain the fight would have ended very differently. Unless of course Azulath had some smart bombs loaded or something, but that might be overthinking the situation. /shrug
What's the point of carrying combat drones if you aren't going to use them, especially when they would tip the balance so much?
If I'm flying my Tristan rigged for speed, cruisers have trouble hitting me, never mind battleships. And Vigils are even faster. Drones are the only way.
This guy is seriously bad for m3g4's rep. If you don't want to become the butt of people's jokes, I think you should very seriously consider terminating him. (And I don't mean fire him!)

The topic denotes a vigil going 1 on 1 with a megathron and winning, the message denotes a vigil and 4 battleships and a load of other frigates outnumbering alone battleship...
I think you are just trying to blow your own trumpet really and trying to make out you did something special, you blew up a battleship which you locked down for a few seconds with a vigil. The vigil was moving too fast for the large guns of the battleship to hit, unless the battleship had a microwarp, it would be extremely difficult to get out of that situation.
Also, the drones might of been in his cargo bay i.e. from loot drop and transporting them. Main Everlasting Vendetta Veteran Member of the Stain Alliance |

ROFL Like putting a one million isk bounty on ppls head would make a difference. Just look at JH having 500 mil bounties on their heads. He hasn’t even been targeted yet.

The poor sod. Sounds like he bought the account on EBAY and was out on his own for the first time. The first time i got attacked i have to be honest I did panic and it cost me my MOA, i suspect he did the same.
Proberably some rich school kid who thinks that becasue he has a big ship he can do what he likes when he likes. A spoilt child I guess who now wants to quit the game cos its not fair. But I will get my daddy to buy me more ISK and I shall have my revenge whilst I play on my game cube. (You can get uber cheat codes for these games)
Anyone can buy an account on EBAY but you got to put the time in as a NEWB to learn from your mistakes and gain experiance from doing it and from other players.
Getting killed by another player for the first time is a terrible experiance for many and for some it can put them off the game. This child should have noticed the ELSPA 11+ notice on the game box before buying the game and account.
Congrats to the guys that made the kill and to M3G4 for the honest feedback to this episode.

Yes, flying solo can be dangerous even to pirates in BS. That is a great tale. I love it.

Quote: The topic denotes a vigil going 1 on 1 with a megathron and winning, the message denotes a vigil and 4 battleships and a load of other frigates outnumbering alone battleship...
The way I read it, 2 vigils were able to lock him down and were attacking, and reinforcements arrived shortly. Pretty impressive if ya ask me.
It is also funny seeing a pirate whine and vow revenge... hahaha |
