Edited by: Magnus Freeman on 16/01/2006 05:08:41 I have noticed an increasing dissent on the forums, ranging from everything from Lag problems to nerfing gripes.
Few are the people i see who openly applaud all the hard work that your team daily pours into this grand project.
We have new servers coming in, and yet people constanly diss you on the grounds that it is not here already.
We just had a major (Free!) content upgrade, and all people have done for this is to up the whining a notch. It sickens me to think of all the unappreciated work that goes into EVE with no praise at all.
Therefore, i have decided to make this post, as few others before me may have done.
CCP, i salute your hardworking team of great people, and thank you for your dedication that makes the universe of EVE so great. Long may EVE endure!

When I first played civilization on the pc it took forever to do anything on my crappy old 486. Seriously. I used to have to wait minutes for a turn to complete. However I played it because the bits in between the system slowdowns made it worth playing.
Today people are too used to too much of a good thing. CCP provide too much of a good thing all too frequently and when something goes slightly wrong, the people who like to vocally berate CCP on the forums forget just how much good there is in the game and focus on the one negative aspect.
Now I'm sure after so many years of operation CCP employees have grown a thick skin to the abuse and whining but even the most hardened man can still get a tiny bit upset when they are constantly being derised. It's not good calling out to people to tolerate the mistakes or to skim over the few bad points since it will fall on deaf ears the next time someone loses their ship because of a bit lag. However I think we can all agree that CCP have done an outstanding job and every member of that organisation should be extremely proud of themselves.

I'd like to add that as a penalty for warping out, Chowdown recieved a /heal0 from the devs, and his ship promptly exploded.

sooo sorry to break up this ass-kissing session...
but the dev's you so highly praise here post all sorts of fraudulant claims
- rmr = week lost due to unplayable lag conditions
- post rmr = week lost due to password reset issues. We still have no idea if this was a ccp problem, flat out lie, or whatnot and people are still posting saying there continueing to get hacked, meaning there is a gaping security breach, all of which your belvoed dev's are covering up.
- pre-rmr = diemos lost due to lag
- blade tests = lag still getting worse
- drone nurf will improve lag - it got worse
- rof -> damage bonus will improve lag - it got worse
- ramsan will improve lag - the types of lag this should have helped, data access, etc got MUCH worse
- "I've told cs to be more lenient on reimbursement during this lag issue" - they obviously didn't here you cause the people I know are all still getting the "there is no lag, these aren't the reimbursements you seek" jedi mind ****.
- people lose ships, have less income and markedly higher replacement costs, all due to ccp screwups, and the devs joke about navy apoc reimbursements thinking thats funny.
CCP could have EASILY compensated for the increased lag and EARNED the praise you mindless drones want to throw there way.
- reduce jumpclone to personal standings only, not corp, and maybe drop as low as 4.0 so people can protect there implants during heavy lag.
- fix the damned insurance on t2 ships so people can better protect there ships during heavy lag.
- don't bother lieing about "leinent on reimbursement" anymore because with those two changes most people should be able to compensate for the increased risk due to lag.
Once the new servers are implemented and lag is under control they could readjust as needed to balance the lessened lag loss issues.

This is an official MMO forum, whining will be common here. Sadly, much like you point out, people tend to get more active on the forum when they have bad experiences of the game and thus players that may have been very happy with the game and have been playing for a very long time may have a 100% whine history on the forum.
Personally I have issues with the game and have voiced them at times... sometimes more vocally than at other times but I try to do it as constructive critisism not a long winded whine or rant.
I also try to get positive posts in there whenever I think CCP has done somthing good, nothing beats positiv reinforcement to brighten someones day, its as simple as saying "Great job on cutting the petition backlog in half, keep upp the good work."
If people started more constructive critisism threads and more positive reinforcement posts the devs would be alot happier at their job and thus more productive wich is something that will affect us the players a great deal.
In short ppl, stop reflex screaming nerf, stop calling people names and so on, such things are destructive and will not lead anywhere.
Now then, does this post above make me a carebear bleeding heart liberal?
No, dont get me wrong Im a carebear (especially when it comes to hugging women) but I am all for cPvP and I will despite my carebearism keep leaving highsec in chace of my gaming experience.
