To clarify OP... in order to join the Faction Warfare NPC corp you have to leave your own corp or get your corp to join it.
Be advised that in joining Faction Warfare you will be considered "hostile" to the NPCs of about half of high-sec (Gallente and Minmatar space if you join the 24th Imperial Crusade). This state is not permanent and will go away 24 hours after you leave Faction Warfare entirely (unless you ruin your faction standings with those two groups). Change isn't bad, but it isn't always good. Sometimes, the oldest and most simple of things can be the most elegant and effective. |

"How to join an NPC corp?"
This question can bring confusion if it's not precised enough :
At start, when you create a character, depending on the background you have choosen, he/she will start in an NPC corporation, for example Garoun Investment Bank. This is your default corporation. If you are not part of anything else, you will be in this corpo and you can't change your default corpo, never. if you join a player-run corporation, you leave automatically your default NPC corporation. But if later you leave the player-run corporation, you will be automatically again member of your starting default corporation. You will never be able to join another NPC corporation with this character. Factional Warfare is something different. You can join a NPC militia corporation, for example The 24th Imperial Crusade, but when you will leave it, you will again become automatically member of your default NPC corporation. |

Not entirely true. A newly created character starts in one of the starter NPC corporations (in my case, Science and Trade Institute). After you join a real corporation, when you leave you get dropped into a different NPC corporation based on your bloodline (for me, Deep Core Mining). But you are correct in that you can never choose which NPC corporation you will join. |

Oh yes, you're right... sorry, i forgot that, it was a few years ago *blushes* But basically, the idea is that we can't change of npc corp, and we should not mix npc corp and npc militia corp |

This is not completely true . I am Amaar and now, I am Caldari. When I left from Amaar r+¬gion , I was killed . A soon I stop on deck, I had an message like "you have no corporation, do you want to be membre of this one ? " . I select myself to be Wizan. So, if it was not possible to change , why I am a Caldari ? For me it was an accident and I dont know how to do again to change for another npc corp. |
