Edited by: Siigari Kitawa on 16/01/2006 17:10:23 Anyway, like the topic states, I'm at work and realized that the super fast IBM computer I work on most certainly has the potential to power and fuel my EVE addiction whilst on my lunch. Before I install it, I'd like someone to tell me if this game will run on this chipset:
(taken from the device manager)
Intel(R) 82845G/GL/GE/PE/GV Graphics Controller
Driver Date: 7/1/2004
Driver Version: 6.14.10.3865
Thanks for your looking, I love you all. (Any flamers will be hated 4 lif) _________ roflfest 2006 - be there

Says it won't be supported by Eve. But always worth a shot.

I should add, make sure you have the lastest Intel drivers and re-install DirectX after adding the latest drivers, then it seems quite happy, supported or otherwise as the documentation may say.

Works on Intel Extreme graphics fine. But two problems 1. Some pictures are distorted(in my case). A bit annoying but I do not care. 2. You need to slightly "unpatch" latest patch.

Do tell;
I have an 815 on my laptop and since last patch, I cannot log in as one of my toons. I can log in as the alt that is the "default" character of a new install, but once I have selected my main EVE closes completely. The character manager gives away the problem a bit -- it can't generate her image. The other 2 faces look fine, but hers in the box to the right only shows her hair and a grey background.
Ideas?

Very off topic, but I was suprised that it ran as well as it did when I was forced to scale back to my 16 meg GeForce 2. It was actually playable.

Works fine on my laptop, intel extreme graphics 2 for mobile. Only problem I get is that sometimes thenicons in the overview and agnt/caharcter pictures get a little corrupted. Other than that, it's ok if a little slow.

you can buy a card that will work great for under $100 if you look around online (not used or that 'e' site, but NEW).
or try a PC store for a used card (real cheap)

Intel 82865G runs Eve, barely. I use one computer equipped with such a chip occationally to change skills. It can also be used to travel from A to B but I really wouldn't do any kind of combat with that computer.

The Savage pro is of a similar vintage. You be shocked what you see in boxes as a PC Tech. Its the boxes that have been incremtaly updated that tend make me say wow.
Nothing like seeing a 10 year old PCI vid card in a box with a $900 CPU
