Hello,
I would love to see a small change to the default setting of the AAR and ASB modules. Can we please have auto reload off as a default, since that doesn't give you as much issues if you forget to check what the setting is. You can always reload manually, but once reload starts you can't use the module for a full minute and you usually die.
Kind regards,
Carka |

Or after using it once you realise you have to set autoreload off. |

Thank you for proving my point, that it would work better if the default setting was changed |

Correct me if I'm wrong but if it runs out of Cap Boosters it then massacres your capacitor for the charge to boost your shields? I'm not understanding how that is better but then I have limited use with the ASB\AAR.
Are you pulsing the ASB for one rep at a time and then you are seeing this or is it when you are just cycling through all your Cap Boosters as quick as possible and it runs out and then starts to reload instead of chewing through capacitor?
Just trying to further understand your issue as it may affect me as well. Fast Character Switching "XP Stylee" Undocking - More Routes Out of Station Here's my tear jar > |_| < Fill 'er up! |

The auto reload kicks in once it stops running without either cap boosters or nanite paste. So it will still eat through your cap with the ASB till you don't have enough cap and then it starts reloading. The issue is not really with the ASB since you won't have cap to run it for more then 1 or 2 cycles, but with the AAR you can keep using it, even without the nanite paste.
With the AAR though it still works without nanite paste, it only repairs a lot less. Typically you don't have the time to reload your AAR without losing the fight. Even the little bit of extra tank it gives can be the difference. The AAR actually uses the same amount of capacitor with paste or without paste.

Carka |

Thank you for not trolling me and explaining, I can see the issue now and am more educated. Learn something new everyday in EVE
I'm thinking that this certianly be an improvement for the AAR but no so much for the ASB and those mofo's eat your cap for breakfast and then ask for more...but then as you said that could be the difference between flying away victorious or a glorious ball of fire.
OK, how about an icon indicator in the center of the module to show the state. As an example of what I mean is the iTunes icons where 2nd in on the left could be "Auto Reload Off" and the 3rd in on the left would be "Auto Reload On".
Just an idea along with being able to set a default for a particular type of module? Fast Character Switching "XP Stylee" Undocking - More Routes Out of Station Here's my tear jar > |_| < Fill 'er up! |

AARs can be used without nanopaste, ASBs can't be because they nuke your cap in 1-3 cycles

yeah, fully agree. Better defaults would be nice. If you use an AAR you want to reload manually in 90% of all cases so lets put this as default.
I would also love to have an option to tell a module to stay in overheat mode if it turns off for whatever reason. eve style bounties (done) dust boarding parties imagine there is war and everybody cloaks - join FW |

YES! Things should stay in overheat mode when they cycle off. Most annoying thing about using asb and aar is having to re-overheat them every pulse Blue-Fire Best Fire |

This, so much this! I know exactly what you mean carka, I have lost ships to this auto reload & as I'm sure people will agree, there's nothing worse than having your ship decide it's time to dieGǪ Or the old favourite "so you could easily manage with the AAR (paste'd), let's see how you fair when it goes awol for a minute just as they get close to structureGǪ" |

I would have to agree. If the AAR would just default to Auto Reload off, it would be a major convenience for those that use AAR's in small scale PvP. (Without having to remember to change a setting every time we get into a ship.) |

Nice idea, But how about just remembering settings like it does for orbit and keep at range? Set auto reload or repeat off and it stays toggled until you set it otherwise. Would like a true toggle overheat setting as well. (had your point heated, ship pops, point stays heated to point that pod at that range, ect...)
+1 all the same
I also like the idea for a state symbol, giving the player more visibility to quickly see the auto reload/repeat status. Recruiting |

I agree. I've lost a few frigates due to this. Please set the default of the AAR to "off".

or imagine additional to the points already mentioned, there would be an option to tell your mod to continue running after its reloaded.
usecases: a) you want to switch TD scripts or ammo now: 1) you turn the module off 2) wait till its really turned off, ready for right clicking 3) turn it on as fast as possible if it worked otherwise go to 2.
proposed: 1) module is running you select different ammo type 2) at the end of next cycle it automatically switches charge and activates itself again after reload delay
b) you shoot a structure with a ship which is not a laser boat now: 1) mod runs out of ammo 2) reloads 3) you forget to activate it since you are watching TV till the FC screams at you
proposed: 1) mod runs out of ammo 2) reloads and continues fireing eve style bounties (done) dust boarding parties imagine there is war and everybody cloaks - join FW |
