buy a shuttle at your home station and fly that out to your new ship... packaged shuttles are 500m3 so you may be able to bring it back in the hold of the new ship or just scrap it....only about 9k after all.

If your quick you can dock your ship and eject at the same time. Therefore relieving you of having to leave a ship. However it will be a very slow trip to pick up your new one. I wouldnt recommend it unless it is close.

Pretty sure that's an exploit as it's not an intended game play feature. Using a shuttle is faster, cheap and supported gameplay. -- Lil Miner |

Edited by: Loodo Viscious on 16/01/2006 19:26:40 If it is an exploit, i was unaware. People talk about it freely on the forums, thats how i came to learn how to do it. Any official word that can be said on this topic?

Of course it isn't an exploit.
"Not intended gameplay feature" != exploit
Its only an exploit if CCP says it is.
For example, jetcan mining wasn't intended, but it isn't an exploit. -- Proud member of the [23].

It's when you jettison any object to create a 27,500m¦ capacity canister in space. You can than mine nonstop by simply moving ore from your cargo hold into that can while someone else just empties it (leaving behind one item to keep it open) and brings the ore back to station for processing. -- Lil Miner |

Ok thanks for the explanation. My next question is, if you log out does that container disapear? I had one stowed at a safe spot full of ammo. The next day i came back and it was gone. I didnt figure someone found my spot. Which brings me to my question.

Jet cans last a max of 2 hours..then they vaporise. When mining you occasionally jetison another can and move the stuff from the older can to it.

If you wanted a permanent place to store ammo in space (0.7 or lower space) you could use a Secure Can and anchor it. That would password protect the can and leave it where you anchor it till you unanchor it. -- Lil Miner |

Regarding flying a shuttle to pick up a new ship, remember to bring an afterburner in your shuttle's cargohold
