Why does eve need this? Simple eve is far too safe. Sure no pirate blockades, but what about those that take vengance out on those pirates? Pirates can still run away to planets and then mwd off the grid and be very difficult to track, no sorry i mean impossible to track.
What does this do? Means any daft gimp can run away and talk smack, prey a system and cause havoc. Now i'm not complaining that people cannot be thorns in my side, no indeed i respect that but when its someone with the IQ of 50 and a MWD it kinda gets under ones skin.
So what do i purpose? Well although the scanner allows us to pinpoint where they roughly are, it doesn't allow for much help once they've moved off the grid or indeed if they've just gone to somewhere in the middle of nowhere after making a bookmark mid warp.
So what i purpose is add the "warp to" option on the items in the scanner. Its an idea, and i believe it will make PvP more frequent and more interesting.
Now the first idiot to come here and tell me i just suck at hunting people, you bring a fleet of 10 bs's against my one, and see if u can catch me. I bet i could avoid you for over 10 hours without making more than 2 jumps.
So feed back, but make it constructive - and if your a griefer who feels threatend by this purposal then appreciate that life is at times fair, and you may actually have to fight on equal or uneven terms... oh dear :(

I have to agree, I've spent many a time watching large corps gather to smash a few battleships that have declared war against them.
The moment they do, the battleship pilots mid warp and log, or run to station and dock.
The corps wait for a while, get bored and move on.
The same applies the other way round where the corps themselves go hide in the station.
Now as both sides can do this I guess its a legitimate tactic, but I have to say it leads to very boring combat.
The only battle I've been in was way back when a few moas tried to take on our corp who were also in a few moas. However it is not often battles are so even and thus very often they do not happen :(

Absolutely agreed. Entirely too many ways to hide right now.
This is not to say that a skilled or well-equipped person shouldn't be able to get away. But the constant log-in / log-out procedure is irritating at best when you've spent hours chasing someone.
In addition, being able to create places that due to game-mechanics are unreachable by anyone else is a problem, to say the least.
Being able to warp to someone detected on the scanner would be one step in the right direction.

Indeed warp to person in the scanner would be a step in the right direction but in and of itself not enough. Yuo would warp in they would warp out.
Even if you have every moon/planet/station/belt/jump gate and star locked down they can still evade you by always warping. then to add insult to injury they warp to a station or gate and either instajump or instadock.

I have two comments.
On the one hand, being able to easily avoid combat is nice for carebears. They don't ever have to fight at all. I can understand where they'd wail and cry if they ever had to fight a battle.
On the other hand, it's completely silly that, for instance, Evolution can waltz up to the Venal region (like they did this weekend) and even though we were able to marshal an army of 40-50 ships there is still not a bloody thing we can do to evict them from our space. So ya, a "warp to invader" tool would be useful.
CCP needs to preserve the carebears since they are so fragile and need constant care and protection, but also support the megacorps who need to manage their turf.
I think a solution to this would be to introduce a "flag" that can be planted in space somewhere, which claims the system in the name of an alliance or corporation. This would force Evolution (in our example) to put up or shut up, and try to take our flag.
At the very least it would give them a goal.
It's easy for CCP to introduce "flags" - they are sentry guns that don't fire! Their info says "This system owned by X Corp," and they show up in the scanner as simply "Flag". There can be only one flag per system, and it can be anchored only at a planet.
It would be a good "first step" from CCP introducing player-owned structures.

DAmn Good idea ctaesis. To make it even better ships should be unable to dock repair or reload or something to that effect while the system is occupied by a corps flag that they are at war with. Should cost a nice bit of money to claim a system to to keep noobs from claiming all of .0 space But im a nice guy..... |
