Hi all,
I've seen other posts on this but I'm still confused.
I want to create an alt that I can train at the same time as my main but I don't need to be able to play them simultaneously. The obvious solution is to create a different EVE account.
If I subscribe on a yearly basis I'm paying -ú7.50 / month so with two accounts I'd be paying another -ú7.50 / month.
However, the sidekick offer says -ú19.99 for 90 days which comes down to -ú6.66 per month. What happens after 90 days? Does it go up?
Anyway, okay the sidekick is cheaper but not that much cheaper and you can't simultaneously train unless you get dual character training which costs a further -ú15 per month!
I'm not going to analyse these figures any more than that but I just can't see how the sidekick thing is worth doing, at least for me anyway.
Am I missing something here or is a second EVE account the only way to go?

FYI Did not Read. Only Title.
But Its better to open a 2nd acc, Means you can play both Clients at the same time.

The sidekick is a second account. The dual training allows for two characters to be trainable on the same account. Once the first 90 days are up, it is the regular sub price. If you dont need to be able to play both accounts simultaneously and you have a rough idea of what you want to train, then the dual-training is the way to go. This way you can have access to both characters but only pay for one account. |

Okay so let me get this straight.
1. I have to sign up for the sidekick at -ú19.99 for 90 days.
2. I then have to sign up to dual character training at -ú15.99 for 30 days.
3. I have 30 days to train my alt whilst still training my main.
4. After 30 days I can only train one character at a time.
5. After 90 days my sub goes back to what it was before I started this.
Is that correct?

This is the only reason for separate accounts, however. There's real reasons why your Eve character doesn't do /dance. |

No, its one or the other.
Side-kick offer will gove you a brand new account with 90-days game-time. After this you'll have to pay for each account every month. Dual-training allows you to train 2 characters on ONE account for 30-days.
So either get a side-kick offer for 2 accounts, or dual-training for 1 account. But as you say you don't need to play both characters simultaneously i'd suggest dual-training until you have your 2nd character trained up in whatever you want (I assume trading/manufacturing/PI?) |

Surprised no one has listed this yet. Best way to do things is:
Invite yourself with the Buddy program. Upgrade using Sidekick and 'special promotion package'. I think it's 29.95 for an upgrade and 3 months of game time. I didn't check the prices for the 6 month and 1 year packages, since the characters I made don't need that much training. I vaguely remember the 6 month package being something like 55e, and the 1y one being something like 92e
So to summarize, what you get is: - 1 PLEX for your main account (because of buddy invite). - A 2nd account with 21 days of trial time+ 3 months of subscription time. The upgrade from trial to full includes the racial starter package, with Cerebral Accelerator. Always nice to get a boost to your training.
21 days of trial + 3 months of training should give you about 6.5mill SP.
All that for 29.95e.
Obviously once the 'sidekick' offer is over after 111 days, you will need to use a regular subscription method if you wish to keep the account active. |

You're misunderstanding the sidekick. A sidekick is a completely normal second account, just the first three months are discounted. So you pay -ú19.99 for the first 90 days, and then you can switch to a yearly sub at -ú90/year. At all times you can train both characters and you can login both simultaneously.
The dual character training only offers to other characters on the same account - for which you don't need to pay additional subs. |

I can be horribly wrong but,
For me a sidekick is equal to a second account so 2-5 are wrong. You pay -ú19.99 for 90 days and then the normal rate for an account.
Dual training you do on an alt you have on your own account. |

if u plan on doing anything in low /null a second account is vital. if u plan to own jump capable caps one day a second account is vital. if u just run around in high sec either option works. |

Next month the Eve CE will come with a 60 day new account key. I am not sure if this is enough to tip the scales on you buying this set, but there will be most likely a bunch of players with extra new account keys. Selling them for cash might fall into the RMT issue and I would even check out the ToS if you want to buy one for ISK to be safe. I would imagine that giving away the account key is safe though, so if you have a friend who is buying a CE, or are part of a large corporation you might want to ask around. |
