I was mining in a 0.6 system when I gets targeted by a game pirate so I do what I normally send out 4 wasps to take care of it, but as soon as the wasp hit me secure status jumps up and then the next think I know the police are on me shooting, 4 mins later bye bye to me nice thorax and me 5 cu's laser I work hard for :@ is this another bug? as I always send me wasp out to game pirates, bloody ****ed off with it, thought thinks were getting better after i've not got CTD for days and then this happens.the system I was in is called Josameto.

Some times there are some really freaky people out there that have there names set to the same as pirates like people we have there name say serpentis patroler or somthing like that did you manahge to check the pirates info?

yeah just got a reply off the person with the same name thanking me for me stuff the sad tart maybe they should be a ban on name yourself the same names as pirates??

This is considered a bannable offense. Send the details in, and ya will probably get yer stuff back as well as the perp being banned.

This is indeed not allowed as per the game rules.
Please file a petition under the CHEAT header. You should be able to get your stuff back (no promises, though)
For an official comment on the subject of naming a character after a pirate NPC, please see this thread.

allready done one under form of cheating and can only have one pertions in cheating
cancel the formof cheating and made a new CHEAT one

A side note..
That other thread is slightly misleading.
IF the impersonating player is in a shuttle, they will appear the same as a NPC looking like a cross.

As Orestes kindly quoted, these players are delt with as soon as they are reported to us.
If you know of any other players doing this, please file a cheat petition, and they will either have their character name changed, the whole character deleted, OR in serious cases (Such as repeat offending) a possible ban.

Theres a couple of fools impersonating me, theres Pendragon, theres Uther Pendragon, Im sure a few more. Im just too sexy to be duplicated in this fashion!
