Ok I started my character as a minmatar, I liked the whole idea behind the race but at the same time, their ships look like crap, I mean the only half decent looking minmatar ship is the tempest. When I began the game there was only a few ship classed, frigates, cruisers and battleships. I made my character as an all rounder, he can use every kind of basic ships except caldari but minmatar ships are my streangth as I've developed my projectile skills.
Why nit develop hybrid ships combining the streangths of different races, this would go brilliantly with the whole RMR plot. I think the next teir off battleships should be hybrid, crosses between different races technology. For instance as minmatar sem to be getting close to gallente and amarr with caldari why not include different next teirs of each ship class to go with that. A new ship in each class that would require minmatar frigate level 5 and gallente frigate level 5 to use the hybrid frigate as well as maybe hybrid ships skill. Finally we'd have a ship that a minmatar pilot could use that wasnt only good but didnt look like total crap.

Quite a few of the factional ships are hybrid. Might want a look into em mate. Used to have a URL which listed them all, but examples are the Gila.
