Quote: Seems like he was role-playing to me. You insulted him in role-playing fashion and he told you to 'stuff' yourself, in role-playing fashion. Did you expect him to just sit there and liten to you insult him all night?
I wouldn't. Just because you don't get the response you expect doesn't mean it's not role-playing. I rarely talk in game and I'm role-playing.

I see what your saying but the impression I got was that he took it personaly.

In a different mindset today, not that hung over...
Well I may not have stolen or blown it up but if you were bothered with his presence you should've threatened to do so should he not pack up and relocate. Given fair warning and a legitimate backing in prime fiction I'd say this is in order.

Sorry, but the main reason there is minimal roleplay by the majority of players in EVE is because the developers have given them _ZERO_ reason to do so.
Stories on a webpage don't make an RPG, a storyline SUPPORTED BY THE GAME is what makes an RPG.
EVE is _NOT_ an RPG.
Amen to that. On top of that, the game which should have had pirating as a facet of play has turned into "Pirates of the Carribean". So much emphasis placed on the mechanics of pirates vs. non-pirates that there is little time for anything else. The game would have been well served with a small dedicated pirate population. TTI despite all their yammering about RP, missed a golden opportunity to set the game on the right course early on if they had used their size to fight large scale pirating. Once they jumped into bed with the pirates that opportunity was lost.
I can't say I blame the pirates. Many have turned to pirating due to the sheer lack of anything else interesting to do.

Hmmm... well I would just say it does not matter too much whether someone is into RP or not from "my" stance. I semi-force them in to it if they are dealing with me in game anyway... just my style... They don't like it? Fine... move along. They don't understand "why" something just happened to them...fine... they'll either do the research and get into the RP and back ground or they won't. Either way... it matters little because I'll RP till the cows come home and they will still "feel" the effects of my role-play like or not!
To me .. EVE is one huge RPG whether some people choose to see it that way or not...
