I am back and a new player really. I was wondering where to go to get utilities for this game. I know a lot of people make them. Is there one place that lists them all? I know EVE-I used to have some but that site is no longer available.

Try the ship and modules forum for a offline ship fitter that's based on your skills. Very useful during office hours for all you ship fitting freaks out there. ---------------------------------------------

Edited by: Apol on 18/01/2006 01:19:26 I was wondering with all i've read about passwords being stolen and hacked, which programs and sites are generaly trusted to be "clean"? I've been wary of running any of these programs so far esspecialy when they ask for user name and password.

I had the sdame concern - and my policy on it is simple: The only people who need my password are CCP, and the only place they need it is at the EVE login screen.
If I don't give my username or password to anyone else, the odds of my account being hacked is far, far less. I would not be surprised if every one of the accounts that got hacked was using such an application. I'm not saying that the authors of such apps are suspect, but there's no doubt that their applications are far less secure than the EVE login and that's probably where the hackers began.

I think the problem the other poster was referring to was the possibility of a trojan that could gain your userid/passwd in any number of ways.

That's certainly one possibility - which is why it's safest to simply not give your login info anywhere but in the login screen.
