I'm sure this has been asked before...but how easy is it to target more than one enemy ship?
Unless I'm real quick as the enemy ships appear and manually place the guns on different targets as soon as my ship has 'locked' with one enemy..all the guns blaze away at it.
Now I know its useful to destroy one and move onto the next but sometimes I would like to take out two pirates with long range rail guns at the same time..and without having to frantically scramble to place gun cross hairs on each in just a few secs worth of time.
Any help would be appreciated.

Hmm, if you press 'esc', theres a little box at the bottom about targetting back, you can write a number in there. Put '2'.
Think that was it anyways. ____________________________________ Taggart wants YOU. Join TTi! *waves his hand in your face in the jedi way* |

Any target you come across can be targeted by rightclicking on it and selecting "lock target". You can through this way lock as many targets as your ship/skills can handle. by leftclicking on the targets you have acquired you can select an "active" target.
You guns can then be activated on seperate targets.
Hope this helped, Faramir

I would add there are skills that once learned will enable you to lock more targets at once. -

There are also modules, such as active targetting modules, that increase the number of targets you can have active.
Or at I assume it increases that limit rather than the limit of the ship - otherwise there's no way of reaching theship limits that are already there.

Previous replies are helpful, but I would set the maximum number of targets (shown in the options when you log out) to 5/6.
You will not be able to target this many until you train up and get a better ship, but atleast you can then forget about it.
general idea is that you target all NPS's that you are attacking. You can then choose single or multiple targets, and monitor their relative distance from you. This helps decide who to target and where to move.
I also target cargo containers when picking up loot, makes it easier to pick the nearest and open the container (click on the target rather than the 'in space icon').
Hope this helps.
