We're a corp of just under 20 folks. Most of us have been around for a good few months now, and by way of example, I've got just under 7 million skill points, though that includes 2.2 million of learning about 1.7 industrial and another million's worth of Gallente Industrial V, so no great shakes in the combat stakes.
The corp's focus so far has been industrial and PvE. That's mostly because the barrier to entry is much lower (in terms of needed skills and assets) than PvP, not because we're against it. And because it's not so scary.
We'd like to get into 0.0 space, set up a POS or three, maybe start some moon mining and the like, and we're categorically NOT looking for a big, rich alliance to do all the hard work for us. We make decent enough isk right now building frigates and destroyers from BPOs and larger ships from BPCs that we'll be able to afford a POS or two in the next couple of months, but what I want to avoid is investing all that time, effort and ISK only to pick some alliance or other's favourite system and have the whole thing blown to bits within hours of becoming operational.
It strikes me that the best way to avoid that unhappy circumstance is to join an alliance with an established presence in 0.0. We're not on the scrounge for a prime mining spot with free defenses surrounded by alliance-sovereign systems with 23x7 gank squad patrols, we're just a small group of people wanting to take our first steps away from empire space with a bit of preparation and friendly support.
We're not interested in merging corps, we're hardly the world's greatest PvPers (yet), and we're not looking to do all this in the next-24-hours-or-bust.
We ARE looking for a larger organisation that we can become a part of. One that will help to guide us through the necessary steps.
We want to get out of empire and really start making something of ourselves. The alternative is to grow fur and paint hearts on our chests. (Or was that the hair bear bunch?)
So, if you represent an alliance who think this sounds like a good idea, please get in touch, either here or in-game. Equally, if you represent an alliance who think this sounds like an incredibly dumb idea, please also get in touch and let me know why
Thanks all

Thanks for the reply. I'll look him up shortly.
Anyone else? The alliance recruitment process seems to be something of a mysterious art at the moment...

You sound like you have two feet to stand on... Possibly ready to advance. I suggest you ask KGEN for details on the Alliance. It's difficult to find a good fit. Good luck on your research.. and don't rush it. :)

Or maybe shortly after that, when I get a chance to log on again...
(who'd have an RL job if there was a way to make money [legally!] by playing Eve? not me, that's for sure )
