Yep, trying to pvp without clear comms is like trying to thread a needle with spaghetti during an earthquake.
You can pick up a headset with a mic for about the same price as a couple of beers.

Also on ebay thanks to the chinese sweatshops you can get a cheap headset for -ú2.99 (so less than $5.00) including postage. So there is little excuse not to be able to have a working mic these days.
