Whould be great to have a "auto-refresh" directional scaner, with the option to set the refresh intervals, continuosly, each 5 seg, 10 seg, 1 min and so on....
I dislike the need to be clicking teh scan buton every time, like when you are busy doing a anomalie or in pvp, this moves you from teh actions you are executing.
Even more after the rubicon update that is coming, and frigs will almost be in maxwarp speed after warping, a delay of 10 seg in checking the scaner may turn in your death or life.
And for all that, is not cool to be clicking scaner every 5 seconds while playing, is just ilogical. After all, the ship system scaner is already in the continuously scan mode updating almost instantly any alteration. So why not make directional scaner the same.

the dscan is pretty horrible as it is (click, click, click) but an auto-refresh would be too easy
the whole dscan should be reworked from the ground up to make it less... bad |

You also seem to dislike the SEARCH facility provided free of charge just like Local intelligence. Been suggested and trolled and flamed and supported more times that I can remember. The distant cousin to "NERF AFK CLOAKERS" threads...and it's a no from me.

but a filter that enables selection of an overview tab to be used by the dscanner would be a huge improvement.

dscan needs alot of rework.
why do u need to tell a machine to use its sensors when it has those sensors.
I may be a bit influenced from other games but why not make it radar like, where u can see blops on it and the closer they get to u the better the resolution (max range there could be something, 3 quarters of max range it is a ship or structure, half the max range ship class [frigate, destroyer, cruiser, etc.] 1/4 exact ship type). And why not make DScan more ship size specific means frigates have a dscan range of 10 AU where as BS have 30 AU.
And what i read in a comment "only when local is removed". Just plain no, i look at local as in it is a news and communication network in which you automatically login, but maybe u could use a consumeable commodity to hack that system for a limited amount of time so that u wont show up in local.
