I get tired of searching for some items when I've got my items sorted by type. Usually, I'm looking for the "best of a type" that I have and searching by type is usually best. However, there are some of the problems that annoy the heck out of me.- Missile Lauchers, ammo, and upgrades not grouped together - All the turret weapons are grouped together followed by the upgrades, and all the ammo for these are in one big group (although they should be sorted by size - largest to smallest - before being sorted by name). However all the missile launchers, ammo, and upgrades are scatterer. Why can't all the missile ammo be in one group like the hybrid, laser, and projectile ammo? Why can't all the missile launchers followed by all the missile upgrades be grouped together like the all the other weapons?
- Strip Miners/Ice Harvesters are not grouped together with all the other mining items (and even the Modulated Strip Miner II is nowhere near the Strip Miner I). I believe there are now mining upgrade modules and those should be sorted just following all the mining lasers/strip miners/ice harvesters.
- Cargo Expanders/Nanofibers/Overdrives/etc. are all together in one big group sorted by name. Why can't all the Cargo Expanders be together followed by Nanofibers, etc.?
I'm sure there are other problems, however these are the ones that happen more often than the others. Sorting by name is best if you're looking for a specific item that you know the name of. However, most of the time I'm doing a "show info" on the items of a type to find the best and searching for them sucks. Also, scrolling down looking for missile stuff makes it hard to find since you stop and look at some launchers only to see that they're the wrong type (like torpedo launchers when you want cruise launchers) and have to search even more.
Overall, sort by type is still the best, it just improving so it's more useful.
