Hey,
Does anyone else suffer from crashout's from EvE Online using this type of graphics card? My 9800 Pro, which I previously upgraded from was fine.
I'm getting really sick and tired of crashing out all the time and that's why I don't play much as i'm having to wait for this too be sorted.

I do have CTD without warning all the time. Sometimes I can go for hours playing and it not happen. Sometimes it happens every 5 minutes. Tried the stickied fix, but that didn't work.

I also tried the sticky fix, no luck for me... I don't know why top brand graphic's card's are having problem's...and I'm not going to downgrade from my X800 back to 9800.

i have had an x800xt pe for about 15 months now and ive encountered a couple of problems, so i guess i can suggest a couple of things:
(1) make 100% sure all of the 9800 drivers have been cleaned off your rig. You can use a prog like driver cleaner to make sure. Old drivers not related to your x800 will often cause problems.
(2) try the Omega drivers instead of the catalyst drivers. The only drivers that work with my card are the ones that came on the disk with it, all newer catalyst drivers for some unknown reason do not. Im also an ex-Call of Duty player. It uses the quake engine so its all about fps and i have consistently had better fps with the omega drivers.
(3) All the obvious stuff: make sure your OS is up to date and spyware free.

Edited by: Staranc on 20/01/2006 16:48:55 Are you saying download, Catalyst Control Center Package, rather than just the Driver's?
Edit:
I've noticed that those are the driver's only, I always install the driver's only and still have the crashout's.

Edited by: CerealUK on 20/01/2006 19:21:18 Which flavour is it? The AGP or PCI-E?
I have no problems with my AGP one. I also previously used a 9800 Pro and found no problems with that either.
Try uninstalling the Catalyst Control Center and drivers and then try downloading just the plain driver from the "Low Speed (dial-up)" section of the site, that way you'll rule out a prob with .NET.
Also, try an upgrade to .NET 2.0

Edited by: Rellik B00n on 22/01/2006 20:01:42 my rig (bit old by modern standards but good for the time ):
MB: Asus P4P800E-Deluxe CPU: P4 3.6Ghz RAM: gig OCZ 500 GPU: gigabtye x800XT platinum
i have no problems with stability or disconnections with any game i play. The PC is heavily overclocked and the only issues I have had are related to the AGP/PCI lock on this board being rubbish!
different people have different problems tho so i would recommend you have a look on a modding/overclocking/tech related web site. Many such sites have people with exactly the same components as you hitting exactly the same problems and solutions are easily found and requested. You cant automatically jump on the 'my components are rubbish' bandwagon at the first sign of something not working as soooooo many problems are software related.
slightly OT but regarding visiting a techy website is important info imo.
