Can someone tell me how or point me to where it says how I can play more than one account on one machine? I have created 2 directories and two differect short cuts to the two eve.exe's but only one client will launch.

I tried this. It worked but didnt at the same time. I luanched the first one. and then got into the game fine. Then I launched the second instance and got to the game fine as well. The only issue is that when I go back to the first instance, I cant get into the game, the screen is not active, I see nothing. I waited like 5 min last time too, before I had to stop the process. I have the both in windowed mode.

Are they both in windowed mode? If not, make it so. -- Proud member of the [23].

Yes, both in windowed mode.
I have tried it on my faster PC and it works. This machine in question is not a bad machine by no means. it has 1GB of RAM in it. the first instance will bot render after I launch the second.

How much graphics card memory do you have, and do you have AA on? -- Proud member of the [23].

Edited by: IonHammer on 20/01/2006 03:58:07 I run up to 3 accs on my athlon 64 bit running @2.2ghz with 1 gig of mem.
My primary is in the C:\programs\ccp\... my 2nd and 3rd are on the D:\ drive under there account names.
I run 3 for mining and 2 for npcing and 1 or 2 for pvp (depends)
I also run an old but pretty good 512 megs ati 5800(i think) pro extreme card.
One thing i do, is run my main @ 1280*1024 and my secind @ the next one down and my 3rd @ the next one down. This allows me to switch between without alt tabbing and reduces the load on the card.
Yes on ocassion I can get a big lag spike but all in all its fine and i have not felt the need to reuse my 2nd pc for my 3rd account.
If i go for more acc's it will be a dual core deal with more mem etc.
GL. I think Dark has pointed out your prob it looks like the GFX memory.

Antialiasing.
This may be your problem--EVE uses more than 32MB of graphics memory, so if you run two, you will run out and one will crash. -- Proud member of the [23].

I heard a while ago, that you must switch off "sun occluded by ships" in the general tab of the settings menu, to run more than one client. Donno if that is still an issue. --- All my statements are my personal opinion. I am not speaking on behalf of any entity, corp or alliance in this forums. |

Running the client at the loswest possible resolution setting should allow you to play to clients on a 64mb card.
Use 800x600 and you should find it easier.
I had no problem with a ti4200 128mb card and if you're looking for a cheap upgrade these things can be found for about 10-20 usd and are a reliable gfx card. The PNY versions are tip-top! Just make sure they are the PNY version with 128mb agp8

Thanks for the replies. I have become a EVE addict now and have 3 accounts. This is why I was trying to solve this issue. I have figured out that on this PC, I will only run one client. On my faster/newest PC, I will/can run the other two accounts. I have to figure out now how to stop these pirates from killing my miner in <.5 space....
