It would be a great help for the traders, if the client had an option to dump the Market data of the region one is in, into a text file.
suggested format:
region|constellation|system|station|product|quantityask|ask|quantitybid|bid
no suggested routes, just plain data. not the complete market, just the data you see using the advanced market view (max: region)
since the market_map is prettymuch useless, traders have to enter the table data by hand, if they want to calculate the possible profits, and given the slow speed of the interface, this takes me (not the fastest typo around) somewhere between one and two hours for a whole market sweep...
should be quite fast and easy to implement, just append the market data the client sucks each time, into a text file.
that way you could just select the portion of the market you're interested in and have it ready for analysis...

I can agree that the market_map is not very usefull but what do you mean by "entering the table data buy hand"? Have you noticed the button "show table"?

sure...
on my system it takes several seconds to switch to detail view and another two seconds to switch from supply to demand or vice-versa
The whole point of my pledge is to get rid of this painstaking and timeconsuming procedure every sincere trader has to do, but unnecessarily loses hours in doing it...
I dont want to make trading riskless or all too easy, i just ask CCP to take the stupid and fun-destroying parts out of it...

If it takes several seconds to switch I can understand your frustration. I have not had that problem, on my system it is almost instant

Another place were it would be nice to be able to "dump" data to a text file is the journal and possibly the transactions tab in the wallet. I find it labourious to keep track of my sales with the limited interface... -- "I am an expert in not caring. Good idea, but it would then take the competition away from the game and towards who can write the most efficient analysis software offline.
We'd ultimately end up with financial dealing systems and people selling futures and options based on the data.
Actually the more I think about that the more I like it.

Frankly and IMHO: Any trader who does not use some calculator to search for the most profitable routes is either a mathematical whizkid with unlimited memory or in the wrong profession...
Honestly, i believe dumping the values into a textfile wouldn't change anything, the market would be still very risky, since you still would only see the region you're in and have several traders competing over the same routes...
On the other hand it would give us a realistic chance to do some inter-regional trade runs... (now they are just another form of lottery...) Which maybe would stir economy up a bit...
