It's bad enough pirates will attack major mining operations and hold people ransom (from the victim's point of view) but hey, they're just trying to make a not so honest living. I give em props. What really bothers me is when they decide to pick on the little nooblets with nothing but a civilian gun and a measly frigate. That's just mean and shows a bit of cowardice. If you're afraid to prey off the big fish then you ain't much of a pirate buddy. Show some decency eh?
Also I feel as if it's a waste of time too.
I'm honestly surprised no one's posted up a "Pirates Code" yet. Or at least I haven't found anything on the subject.

you would be amazed how many ibises and shuttles that carry around BPO's and BPC's and other really valuable items. so they go pop also.

Pirates don't "pick on" newbies. The newbies are just in the way.

Bring your n00b toon/ alt into low sec, expect to be targeted, ship killed and possibly podded.
How many times does this have to be posted before it sinks into people's heads?

Oh jeez, rather lose a friggie and learn a lesson as a newbie than lose a bs as an "almost noobie"

the only "pirates code" that exists is "stay true to your word", ie kill whomever and whatever you want, but go back on your word and you're out in the cold...
YAY! finally in the same corp as don zola!
The corp is mother, the corp is father.

There has to be atleast one Ibis with a tank (as much of one as an Ibis can fit anyway), and a warp scrambler mining in low sec. :)
There was for a while there a group of pirates who only used Ibises. I hear they did fairly well in a large swarm. Death from 1,000 scraches type thing.
Fear the Ibis!

More like.. hmm easy target.. then the half a dozen hacs uncloak... SURPRISE!
I agree along the lines of noobs shouldnt be shot. IN HIGH SEC. and please. dont try and steal a noobs 500m3 of veldspar.. hes in a NOOB SHIP.. prolly took him a few HOURS to mine that measly amount, all doing that does it make the noob furious, and leave eve. and one less account means less $$ for CCP to spend on making this game that little bit better.
But yeah. ive got an alt thats a 0.0 explorer. and could easily be a 0.0 spy with a few basic skills, if the need ever comes up
Originally by: Stealthy I am simply mortified Ginger Magician's alt is now advising folks in POS operations-is it the end of player piracy as we know it?

Well, they attack newbies, gank on 3 or 4 vs 1 because thats all they can do. That's the same kind of guy who smacktalk to you in real life when they re with their buddies but when you meet them in the streets all by themselves, they just look elsewhere
Short version : they have no balls.

TBH when i started piracy i did just this. On my own against a corp (who i wont mention as they paid the ransom and i dont want them atracting other corps)I managed to rack up 26 kill mails in two days, quite simply because they were all noobs and lived out of one station. They tried time and again to come at me in waves, but against a raven w/ cruise a bunch of caracals and kessies are going to go down hard. After a while i did kinda feel sorry for them, and didn't want to ruin the corp. But **** it, were here to get paid not to care. Hero's fight fair. Pirates win. /me checks
Its not a matter of having balls. 80% of noobs flying around in low sec in reapers and ibis's are alts for other players either a) Spying b)Movoing an expensive BPO hoping they won't get shot because they are noob or c) just trying to see if they can get away with it.
Pirates make low sec Risky and fun for everyone.
if we didn`t shoot everyone we see we wouldn`t be doing our job correctly.
so the short Version for yopu Mlady is.
a)Don`t fly what you can`t afford to loose. b)Don`t come to low sec and fall asleep you will wake up in a clone staion. c)Don`t come to low sec fall asleep then come on the forum's whining that you got shot.
Sentinel Roqeze > I'm so drunk I'll probably try ransoming the sentries

We had a newbie guy in our corp, we told him to be carful in low sec but it didnt stop him going afk (at a gate!) along come pirate- blows him up.
It cost him as little as 300k which the corp was able to refund him and now hes learnt a vauable lesson about low sec. If anything I should be thanking the pirate.

When is a noob not a noob? if they come in low sec, they could well be a spy, i canttell if they new or not. Spies must die and people trick us pirates by setting up new alts, so die they mus

Nothing personal but I see ANYONE fair game. Picking on newbs yes I agree is wrong BUT they shouldn't be in low sec. I'm not going to feel sorry for someone that GETS A WARNING before they go in a system thats 0.4 or lower unless they turned it off... Even then they still know the risks. So being a coward is what you wanna call it thats fine. Ask yourself this... If you knew a shuttle or ibis was transporting a BPO worth 200 million + would you pop it or "let him go"? We all know that answer  ---------------------------------- Drayco {-DDT-}

Wow, I've been quoted! I feel honored....
Anyway, as everyone's been saying, there is no real way to tell if you are a noob or not. If you go to low sec then expect to meet pirates there and prepare yourself accordingly.
