Whilst suffering from a bug today, i relised an elite new extreme sport which can be the ultimate Tank Tester/Buster depending. The bug all began whilst i sat on a gate ganking and a frig with an instabookmark jumped into the next system; it somehow jumped me through at the same time. Bearing in mind that i have a sec status of -8.1 and the next system was 0.7, concord wasn't very pleased. When jumping through, my first thoughts were to just tank it and hope for the best as i made my way back to the gate; it almost worked with some help; thanks to ghargon and a guy i can't remember his name for helping me out. Now, the point of the exercise is to jump into the system with two friends who have good sec status and try to make your way back to the original system whilst tanking everything concord has to throw at you. Simple. My raven managed to go from 15km away from the gate, pick up a can of cap boosters, and then to 2,561m away from the gate untill my tank was defeated, all this at 7.0m/s. I petitioned it as it was a bug, however i'm contemlpating it doing again, with all risk on my shoulders (no petition) with the aid of someone to shunt me, and someone with a badger full of cap recharges to drop cans of them infront of me. Fun. I was using a raven whilst i tried this with 1xlsb tech2, 3hardners (secret), and 1 xl cap boost with 4 pdu1 in low. It did amazingly well so i'm thinking about doing it again and recording it on fraps for all to watch. Maybe something could be setup; the intys have there races, why can't battleships have their tank? I don't know, i leave that to the popularity but i sugest you watch out for the bug and give it a try, it's a laugh. I even managed to get a random in local, who had full rights to help kill me to aid my attempted escape. Eve mail me with your results, i'll work on a fraps movie on it.

I've done the same thing accidentally in a Deimos (oops) and got to within 2,600m of the gate. I also know someone directly who has done the same thing accidentally in a Raven and made it back with 70% Shield.
I make sigs, fo' sh!zzle. Check it! |

Fun fun, would the GM's see this as an exploit or not? Technically you have not commited a crime in that system, other than entering it, and if Concord don't manage to kill you before you get to the gate, all is fair imo.
I've often wondered why seeing as you are supposed to die to concord when they attack you, that they don't just insta pop you....would make more sense than wasting time with webs and slowly trying to take you down.
I remember the time when they changed an old 0.4 system to a 0.5 by in my pirating days somewhere near obe area) and forgot to mention that this was being done. was fun to jump in and see concord spawn

Doesn't Concord only care if you committed a crime in that system? It's the local navy that comes after you if your sec status is too low for the system, right?
Because Concord/sentries would insta-pop you, it's the navies that scram/web you.
But with this head cold, I've been screwing up facts all day. -- Beware the Intaki Redhead of Doom! Meow! I'm looking for a good corp, check my bio. |

I remember warping into a 0.5 when I was -4.9 in a cheetah and thinking "oh this is easy - just warp cloaked and decloak when in jump range". that was the day I found out that concord can jam your cloaking device for as long as you are in the system, preventing you from cloaking at all.
After bouncing from planet to planet avoiding the fleets they spawned at my warp-out point (3 nanofibres 4tw), I eventually decide to suicide it back to the low-sec gate I came from. The moment I came out of warp I hit the afterburner button and watched as the navy spawned in on top of my and got their lock just as I jumped through. I was saved with litteraly one second to spare.
Tbh I wasn't really worried about the ship - it was the local hull expander I was moving that I didn't want to get blown up :).
