Now I'm a beta tester for vista, now again I don't know if this is Microsofts fault, ATi's fault, or your fault, but I'm letting you guys know now that EVE-Online simply doen't work, what happens is the logon screen works, but after its done logging in and everything it just.... sits there, so I suggest you install the vista beta one one of your dev machines and check this out since vista while a beta isn't changing too much now, its pretty much feature complete, that and I've tried other games and they work great, faster than xp also (Frames Per Second), just a heads up, I'm submitting this to MS and ATi as well so I'm not pinning the blame on you, if anything my guess is its the way MS had implemented DWM, so this is mostly a heads up and something you might want to check out :)

Tbh i don't think vista is offically supported by eve/ccp as vista is still in a beta format and very few people have access to it yet.

Yes and about 5% of the EVE player base will upgrade to it straight away. When a final release client is ready CCP will probably spend a month or two making sure EVE works. Really it is not unusual for games to not work on more recent Windows, I have a bunch of late 90's games that need a third party mod to run in XP.

I stopped using windows (except for gaming) for a year and a half before I found EVE. Now I run Windows as my primary OS, you owe me big time CCP.

One of the main purposes of a public beta of a new OS is so software developers can make sure their products work on it before being landed with a huge load of support problems at a later date. Also if there are compatibility problems, whether CCPs or Microsoft's, best to sort them out as early as possible.
IME Microsoft _will_ fix stuff that's their fault, provided you let them know. I personally delayed a release of DirectX by nearly 2 weeks after getting a prototype GeForce 256 from NVidia and finding a slew of bugs in the DX hardware T&L support.

Are you sure it's a microsoft development? If so, October of what year? They have never been known to be on time with releases.
-- My idea of an OS is one that Operates the System, not a complete package of every piece of software ever written. Computers created "The Paperless Office". But some stupid fool invented a printer |
