Indeed, Eve isn't for carebears, and every time I head to Unsec I accept the risk that I might lose my ship and my pod too while there. Going to Unsec is my own choice and I accept the consequences of my actions.
Eve isn't for carebears indeed... So dear gankers (gankers, not pirates), next time you set up a gate camp or similar and warp away at first sign of ship that could shoot back, you are just as much carebears as those people who choose to avoid your gatecamps entirely. So dear gankers, if you manage to drive "easy" targets out of 0.4-0.1 with your "we kill anyone we can and laugh at them afterwards"- attitude, accept the consequences of your actions and adapt, instead of whining to CCP about need to force more people to Unsec "for sake of gameplay balance" or similar :)

maybe random concord patrols into low sec - esp at above a certain kills in last 24 hours concord will turn up at random - might force the easy ganker carebear pirates deeper into low sec

No it won't drive us deeper into any low sec. Not all pirates sit and ganksnipe at gates as there is no skill involved in that.
When ccp makes a pvp nerf, they don't just nerf the pirates. They nerf the entire alliance/merc/pirate/ganker community which is quite large.
If u think u don't get the best mods and minerals in empire well, thats because thats the way the storyline of the game goes. And thats crap anyway because the nifty mission system gives you a ton of opportunity to the big cash and good mods.
Who do you think support the carebears? The pvprs who buy up all their stuff. If u are one of those who ***** about not having enough in empire, LOL go suck a veld rock and stfu. You couldn't survive in 0.0 even without the pirates anyway, seeing that you have no idea how to setup an indy to avoid being sniped.
Scout your route. Use the buddy system for god sakes. This is a MMO not a single player game. CCP gave another bonus to ya'll by lettin you put up pos in empire now if u have enough standings.
So quit whining about losing ur ass in low sec. Theres plenty of empire to go around. Stay out if you can't be bothered to play with fire.

Whoever says Pirates are mean are bad. i was in low sec a couple times and i got the heck blasted out of me once. but i didnt come here and say that pirates should be banned. i sucked it up and got another ship.
if you think that pvpers should get banned, go back to WoW. dont forget that if CCP didnt want any PvPers, they would have put concord everywhere. the whole point of the security level is to allow pvpers while People who dont want to die can stay in high sec.

The whole 'omgz piratz are teh devul' arguement is moot. One of the great things about EvE is the flexibility to play how YOU want to play. If you want to trade, you trade, and if you want to pirate, you pirate.
The only thing that really grips me about piracy is the 'gate camp' mentality. Jumping into low-sec to find 5 ships just sitting on the gate waiting for passers by does my head in, but that's part of the game. If I'm caught out in lowsec mining or mission running, and I'm hunted down, held and ransomed or destroyed by a pirate then fair enough they've worked for the kill, but just sitting on a gate is like shooting fish in a barrel - lazy, and pretty damn boring, in my opinion. That said, it's part of the game, and part of the excitement.
Matbe we should have an 'engagement' bubble around gates, that gets smaller as the system security level decreases, I know it's a bit of a 'carebear' thing to suggest, but maybe then more people would go out into lowsec.

very true! but if u do kill some one there is a response now days! jail time, or pos. death row! so ccp needs to do soemthing abought the random killing! i think concord should hunt them down when in empire space! there sopose to be the cops right :)

ccp needs to have pvp be a choise not forced on u! they could take pvp out and have the corp wars! there u would get all the pvp u wanted!

Seriously though. Seriously. (God, I LOVE saying that. Say it outloud. Try it. It sounds awesome.) There's a risk/reward factor. You can run trade routes through low sec, for a better reward, but there's an element of what, class? Yes, Timmy...That's right, risk.
The same for pirates. They run the risk of those awful, dreadful, and just plain mean(), anti-pirates, not to mention the god-forsaken devilish WCS. They get the low-sec status. They have to stay out of Empire space. They can't have their piie and eat it too. And either should you. NINJA ZOMBIE PIRATES, FTW!
Nah, im thinking more NINJA ZOMBIE PENGUIN PIRATE.
