Is a Heavy High Precision Missle the same as your everyday heavy missle? Or does it hit smaller ships with more damage? Will this enable heavy missles to hit frigs the way they used to before the missle nerfs? What's the deal and where can I read about it?
And then there's its cousin the High Damage Missle. But one thing at a time. |

too bad they run about 1000 ISK a shot, a bit pricey for a Heavy Missle when for me i can produce 10,000 heavies for 1500 about.

Do you mean 1000k ISK a shot? meaning 1 mill a shot or do you mean 1k a shot?

Tech II ammo bites deeply into profits when NPCing. If you can do without using it, do so.
For PvP, its very different. If it gives you an added edge, it is very valuable.
Note: No module = "I win", and that includes tech II ammo, but enough edges, tech II ammo and otherwise, add up. Its a matter of choosing which edges to invest your isk on. Don't forget to use your brain.

Tech II ammo for PvP: Uber
Tech II ammo for NPC: waste of ISK (profit-margin massively reduced)

So how much does an average T2 missile cost?
And laser crystals don't degrade yet so they wouldn't be so bad for NPCing

about 1k to 3k isk for 1 scourge precision But the prices will come down eventually.

Cost me 20 million for 2500 javelin torps. Considering the number of people I've killed with them since then, it's well worth the price.

edit: ok, since I haven't used t2 missles yet and I'm using cruise missiles a lot, I've read the discription myself: They have
- halfed explosion radius, meaning more damage vs. small targets e.g. fregates, destroyers etc
- doubled explosion velocity, meaning more damage vs. fast moving targets
Drawback is lower max velocity which leads also to a reduced max range.
edit: k Spartan, you were faster and won. ^^
As far as i know the speed panalty is for your ship not the missil it selfe.

Yes, think your right. Saw that speed penalty also for t2 ammo. Besides the long range ammo for the tempest, I've been thinking about buying t2 short range ammo for interceptors and assault frigs, but 20% speed penalty seems a lot. So I'm not sure if it's worth it.

By loading javelin torps into my raven I effectively web myself, reducing my speed to 37.5m/s. It's worth it, though, for the greater ability to deal with frigs and cruisers and the increased missile velocity to deal with targets at a longer range.

correct.
When i have two guns fitted with normal ammo my speed (with ab) is around 600, while when their fitted with Javelin ammo (-40 speed each) i only get around 400.
If you fit too many guns with that kind of ammo, your not going anywhere.
(and yes, the more guns fitted does make you slower and slower)
