The skill info for Visibility is this:
Skill at promoting your product effectively. Each level increases a remote sell order's radius of effect from origin. Level 1 allows for range within same
solar system, Level 2 extends that range to systems within 5 jumps, and each subsequent level then doubles it. Level 5 allows for a full regional range.
My question is this: If I don't have the skill at all, does that mean if I put an item up for sale in Rens moon 8 station, no one can see the item for sale if they are not at rens moon 8 station? The word "remote" in the description throws me off.

Its for sell orders that you place remotely.
In otherwords you are at Station A ... you place a sell order at station B, if you have visibility at lvl1 then people in the same solar system as Station B will be able to see your sell order.
I believe if you put a sell or buy order at a station in which you are in it automatically gets regional coverage.

Thats What i Thought till i read the EON mag and it say that it affects ALL orders...
Remotely placed or not, though i have not tested ingam to check this out.. As i dont trade anymore.
However as i read it in the mag though i'd mention it here for somebody to test.

You're both wrong.
Visibility is used in conjunction with Procurement. Procurement allows you to place remote buy orders. If you're in a station and you place a buy order you can set the range of the buy order, from accepting goods only at the station, to accepting goods from any station in the Region. Since you're not in the station at the time you use the Procurement skill, you cannot normally set the range to buy goods. Visibility lets you.
Sell orders may always be purchased from anywhere in the Region.
A plea to CCP: Change the description on Visibility! Please!

From #2 issue of E-ON official magazine, article written by Kaaii. The insiders guide to trading Part 2:
"Procurement (place remote buy orders in stations in the same region) and Visibility, which allows other players to see your sell orders in relation to their distance from where the sell order was placed. It's a misnomer that all sell orders are visible across a region. If you have no Trade skills and you want to sell a shuttle you've just repackaged, someone has to actually dock in the station to see the shuttle for sale."

If its bugged, it should be fixed. Visibility would be more useful for selling and not buying. IRL a good product must be advertised for someone to buy it.
I checked this in game. I have no visibility and when I remotely checked a sale I had going, my product wasn't visible although other competitors at the same station were. I had all the settings I could change to region.

The quote I made is from the fresh new paper magazine E-On.
Is it an older guide reprinted or what?

In the trade forum, there is a stickied post from 2004 about basic trading. It talks about visibility refering to buying, despite what the documentation says. You'd think they'd have changed it by now if it referred to buying.

Most, if not all, of the guides in the EON mag are just rehashed guides written by players. The players guide and its tracking tool are also largely player written.
